Personally i would check the Coil purely because i had the same problems on my scooter and it turned out to be the coil breaking down under load.
Another good thing to check is your reed block it's under the inlet manifold (which is underneath the carb) It only takes 5 minutes to get out, if you don't know what your doing just remember what goes where it's only a few Pipes and 1 or 2 cables.
Once you get the reed block out you will see little petals, if any of the petals are damaged you need a new one. hold the block up to the sunlight and look at the petals (from the inside) and if you can see ANY light you need a new reed block.
It's also wise to give the carb a cleanout while you have it out.
Good luck ____________________ Four wheels move the body. Two wheels move the soul. |

Hi not fitted a new plug as yet but will be getting one from halfords tommorow, after pulling the plug out and cleaning it a few times, i was getting a millisecond of running time, i repeated this about 30 times, then eventually it started to run for about a minute, but would not rev and if i even touched the throttle it died, anyway it ran again for a few times, wouldn`t rev just and bearly running.
So i took the plug out again and it was very black and sooty...on another note the lights dont seam to be working now either, maybe nothing to do with it but can you think of a reason they wouldnt be working it the engine isnt right?
the horn, indicators, brake lights all work but lights dont...
Thanks again for the help |
