 |
|
I'm getting a 2000 rs 125 today for 600 pounds. However I haven't got transport and cant ride it away as it needs its battery replacing. However Its only about a mile and a half-2 miles from my house. Is it ok to push along the pavement? I'm not in any rush and its only around 120kg ____________________ Previous bikes:88 Honda CG 125,00 Aprilia RS 125,05 Honda NXR 125 Current bikes: NONE!!!!! > |

If it is on the public highway (road or pavement) it had to be taxed and insured.
You might, possibly get away with it if you were to strap one of the wheels to a skateboard as then it has only one wheel on the highway.
Same as a car becomes a trailer that doesn't need to be taxed or insured if being towed with 2 wheels raised ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? I have pushed the RS125 for 3, maybe 4 miles and got cramps after.
It's light and manageable, but with a helmet and gear, it was hot, very hot. Unless you're really fit, and it's totally flat, you should sweat a lot. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

Man up! I pushed my RG 6 miles to a petrol station, it took 2 hours, but I got there alright
In your situation, I'd probably just bump start it, or take a battery / jump pack with me. ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

I wouldn't mind even if it did need more than the battery, as I wanted a 2 stroke project for the summer and have the cg to ride in the meantime. But I went to the local motorcycle shop and the bloke there said he'd transport it for 30 pounds. But I'll let you guys know how I got on with it and if the risk was worth it. ____________________ Previous bikes:88 Honda CG 125,00 Aprilia RS 125,05 Honda NXR 125 Current bikes: NONE!!!!! > |

This! in the two years I had a Speedfight I bet I pushed it(them) well over 30 miles. But yes, if you are going to buy an RS that doesn't work and have to push it, wear shorts and t-shirt, even if it's like -3 :l hot work ____________________ Seem to not have enough karma to post :l |

£30, grab it
£900 fine and 9 points for no insurance. £150~ for recovery plus £15 a day storage until you can turn up to collect it (or bike shop collect it for you from them for £30 ) £100 fine for no tax, if you are lucky.
I'd say £30 for a trouble free, non pushing, non getting nicked option was a pretty safe bet ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Ok, lets say you did that Wilson. You wander along in your favourite burberry cap, and your very best Kappa trackies with your reebok classics on. You push the bike out of the driveway and up the street. As you do this, PC Plod happens to be driving past in his area car. He sees a young lad wearing trackies and a burberry cap pushing a 125cc motorcycle up the road...
What is he going to think? Is he going to think
A) What a jolly shame that young fellow has broken down
B) That young man is merely pushing his bike as he has not yet arranged tax or insurance and it won't start anyway
or C) That kid has just nicked someones pride and joy!
I'll give you a hint, it aint going to be A or B! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F; Cheap project: CBR900RR FireBlade
