 |
|
Managed to get a screw in my rear tyre during the week . Probably too late to get hold of any scrubs for this coming Monday. How daft is it going out with a DIY repair? Hole is/was pretty much in the centre of the tyre.
Cheers, Mark |

I think you already know the answer to this one!
You'd be pretty silly to go out on track with a plugged tyre.
Someone at the circuit will probably have a set of scrubs for sale. ____________________ ZXR750R (M2) - For the road.

i've done a couple of trackdays with a 2 inch long piece of wire stuck in the back wheel.... only saw it when i inspected it close up as it was dropping about 5 psi week... got a shock when i took it off the tire and saw this sticking out (from inside)
Then about a week later i was coming back from the track pretty much flat out on the motorway.... front started to feel a bit strange so i slowed up a little... just got off the exit and the bike was undriveable... felt like a front puncture but turned out it was the back with a 5mm tear in it Don't know if it started off small and ripped but had to bin it ... with only about 50 kms done...
Anyway, today is Monday.. what did you do ? |

i took the wheel off and presented it (and a scrub a mate had) to the focused tyre bloke, who then told me to come back in 45 mins..... 'errrr', i thought, i'm out in 30 mins for sighting laps/session1, so went back and put the wheel back in thinking fook it i've got no choice...5 mins later on the way back from the toilet i spotted the same bloke standing around doing naff all so asked again and he said 'errr, bring it up when your ready'.... ??? so i took it off again and got it swapped before i needed to get out.... looking at the inside of the repair i'm glad i did.... it was 30 degrees+ and the tyres were struggling enough without having a hole plugged by a greasy bit of plastercine!! Maybe next time!!! ha!! |
