Well decided today to head to Gloucester to frasers open day, running late as usual i opened it up a little bit...
After getting petrol in abergavenny and heading back on the duel i noticed a copper heading the other way, so needless to say i opened it....
Cue 5 mins later down the road i notice a little white blob gaining in my mirrors ... well hello mr volvo..
Blues come on,pull over, disconnect lady gaga from interrupting the bollocking to take place...
Fair doos to the coppers, we had a chat about the visor tint but when i mentioned sun glasses for car drivers, and i do change for a clear one during the night and the fact he was a biker as well, you could tell even he knew it was an arse of a law....

Anyways...speeding Embarassed "we had to do 120 to try and catch you up..." gulp... i spotted them at 110, then knocked it down to 90....
"Im just going to give you points and a fine as you need the license for work"... sweet..."or we can take you to court and you'll get banned"..... give me the points Wink
After a speech about speeding and if the chain snapped i could be fooked, speeding kills etc... i told him about car drivers pulling out on my bro and taking him out and that i could get killed bumping my head in the bath, he let me go on my way.... with a couple of digs about ducati unreliability.... (left you mate Wink )
Goes to show if your not an arse to them on times even when your in the wrong BIG time they treat you with some respect... could have been a lot worse, didnt fancy walking to work for a few months !
.............................................
After taking it easy to Gloucester (lol) i took some pics.....

Tommy Hill and some others was there too.

And after being dumb struck by guy martins awesome sideburns and how easily he gets distracted by the slightest of things... like someone handing him a book to sign, he would start reading the whole thing !... i got him to sign my speeding ticket ! (He did even read everything on it,even asked me how mint is the 916, wanted to know the story getting the ticket even...very easily distracted ! lol)

Took it easy coming back, except in the twisty lanes...cracking stuff !

Oh, dear.

It is really hard not to exceed a speed limit on the a SBK. Either superbikes and anything over 50 BHP get banned, or a separate legislature is introduced, glorifying the golden biker race - the superior motorists, as compared to the cagers. Twisted Evil

With respect: you bin played, sucka.

Demand to see their evidence before pleading guilty to a criminal offence. The speed "that they had to do to catch you" is utterly irrelevant. All it means is that you were doing less than 120.

It's probably a bit late now that you've tacitly acknowledged the offence, but if they'd accused you of stabbing someone, you'd put up more of an argument than that even if they caught you with a bloody knife in your hand, wearing a t-shirt saying "0 days since my last stabbing".

Deep breaths. It's better to say nothing than to try and talk your way out of it, or to persuade them "not to prosecute". That's entirely up to the CPS, and they'll base their decision on the evidence, as should you. The officers on the spot are almost an irrelevance.

Oi, don't quote my post before I've edited it to put more respect into the "With all due respect" bit. Razz

Honestly though, this drives me up the wall. A copper can't "give" you points and a fine (Fixed Penalty, actually), he can only offer them. It's up to you to accept them. Always ask yourself whether he's going for the easy "sanctioned detection" target rather than passing it to the CPS for prosecution because he's genuinely a nice matey-mate blokey-bloke, or because he knows he's got feck all evidence to convict you beyond all reasonable doubt in a court of law.

I agree that you got off a little, but I believe I did that speed once and just got a slow down hand signal after the blues.

Iv'e yet to read a story on here or watch a traffic cops programme when the officer doesn't claim to have a bike.

Surely they don't all have bikes?

This. nearly every 'i got caught' thread has mentioned the cop as a biker. It seems verry unlikely.

If a car went past you travelling in the opposite direction at 60mph and you decided to give chase, I imagine you could hit 120 to catch up after you have managed a turn and get back on the road. Its all total bullshit and without any evidence it holds no water whatsoever.

Wasnt there another member challenged with this, accused of speeding because they had to do x to catch him up whilst they were in a frickin van, VS a bike that can hit 60 in 3 seconds?

Typical arrogant police, they would rather cajole their victims into incriminating themseleves than have to do any work to actually get that pseudo treasury income that they love.
