Hi, Ive decied to look around my SRAD this afternoon after taking it for a good few hours ride.

Im new to bikes but i know when something dont look right well i think so lol.

Anyway, while i was looking over my engine and air intake i came across this hose all split and cracked.

Where can i get a replacement part from and whats it called Confused ?.

Also ive notice that it was connected to 2 little hoses via this little black tube.

Im guessing this cant be right!.

So ive had a look at the air box and it has 2 outlets for the air and one is blocked off and one was connected to the cracked hose and to the little black tube with 2 tubes going to it.

So im guessing this cant be right surely???.

This is the 'fiche, No13 is the "Control air pipe" what it does/connects to I haven't got a clue Question , it's part no 13855-34E50 if you want to order one from Robinsons Foundry it's £11.53.
The blocked off outlet on the airbox was like that originally must have been an outlet they were thinking of using for something but didn't in the end as the bung is also listed on the fiche (No 11).

You shouldn't pay much attention, this looks to be a pressure 'release' hose/valve, like you would have on any pressurised system working with gas/fluids.

The water cooling system of the engine is a good example, it also has an overflow hose behind the LH fairing, it's connected to the coolant reservoir. Very Happy

That's quite interesting: you have a pressure release hose from the airbox in case the cam train stops for whatever reason, thus ceasing to operate the intake valves. While the petrol is not a problem, the air build-up due to the Ram Air Direct is - the air box can blow up, if you're going at high speed and the aforementioned happens. Smile

It also can be to prevent the above from happening, if you're going downhill at closed throttle. Razz

I haven't taped up the air out let just the hose that's cracked and split, it still allows air in and out!.
