 |
|
Does anyone see anything wrong with putting stickers on a helmet?
All my friends are saying not to do it because it will suposedly grip the ground in a crash, but when i asked a garrage they said "the manufacturers put stickers on them...".
So whats everyones view on this?
The only reason im asking is because i randomly bought a "Ayrton Senna" sticker, but had no real use for it. So it went on my lid...

I've heard a few reasons why you shouldn't put stickers on a helmet, some more plausible than others, but the sticker "gripping the ground in a crash" is not one of them.
I shall use it in conversation henceforth. ____________________ Greetings from Shitsville! |

Hear at the cbt that if you put it on the plastic helmets it can affect them with the adhesive getting into the plastic and potentially causing damage .
However the carbon helmets and the newer helmets are supposedly have a protective coating over the top making them able to support stickers without potentially damaging them. That is what I heard anyway not sure if everyone here would agree. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Certain adhesives (and paints) contain solvents which can damage some kinds of plastic; the damage could be softening, hardening, eating it away, or a combination of these.
The reason why the makers can do it is, they know which solvents are in what adhesives/paints, and whether or not they damage the plastic their helmet is made from.
Unless you send parts of your helmet/sticker/paint to a lab for chemical analysis, you will never know this until it's too late, and this is the reason why it's not recommended that you randomly paint or sticker up thermoplastic/polycarbonate helmets. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

What a coincidence, I have the same helmet.
https://my.picresize.com/vault/2T1ZPCTCEJ.jpg
I've got 2 BCF stickers and 2 monster ones on either side of the visor.
Can't see it affecting how the helmet performs in a crash.
Go crazy and put as many as you want on it. |

I've a BCF one on the back of mine. If I fall off and the helmet dies because of the sticker I'll just sue Marmalade for making them. ____________________ illuminateTHEmind wrote: I am just more evolved than most of you guys... this allows me to pick of things quickly which would have normally taken the common man years to master
