Just cut the wires and join them together.

Yes, done it on plenty of bikes, get the sidestand switch...cut the wires and get rid of the switch, join the wires and it would "make" the circuit as if the switch was pressed.

Until you forget one day, turn into a corner and end up on your arse.

Surely the side stand switch only cuts it if in gear with stand down? Can't see why you'd need that particular configuration for anything on a regular basis.

Are you sure it's not the neutral switch that is buggered?

If you're going to cut the cables get a multimeter and check its definitely supposed to be closed with the stand up.

You don't have to cut anything. Just unbolt the switch, and tie it up somewhere out of the way. Grease and bag it to protect it from corrosion while you're at it. Job done.

Depends what type of switch, with my stand up.. it pushes the button on the switch in. So if I just take off... it will still do it.
