Hello,

I recently bought a 2008 Hyosung 125 GV that works well other than it seems to sort of lose power, wobble back and forth and force me to pull over after about 1hr of use. When I pull over I put in the clutch and the engine stops. I wait for about a minute and start it back up, and ride for another 10 minutes until the same thing happens. Is this a fuel issue? Overheating? Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

A good thing to do is change the oil

Yup. First thing you should do with any used vehicle, regardless of any claimed service history.

as with every cg clone.

Uh, Hyosungs aren't the same as Chinese-branded CG clones. The GV has an 8 valve DOHC lump claiming 14.2hp, admittedly air cooled.

Air/Oil cooled V twin engine Thumbs Up

Pop your front spark plug out, its a bitch of a job, but see what colour it is.

I never had issues with my Hyo over long distance, but it was very low mileage! The engines start getting shit after about 15,000

Hyosung is a Korean company. They make their own bikes and are also contractors to Suzuki and make a fair few of their small bikes.

The GV125 is a OHC Vtwin and bares no relation to the CG125.

I'd start by checking the plugs after it conks out to see what they look like, could be stuck choke or a blocked air filter.

Yeah its all chinesesy crap, your right .Its the oversize v twin, either way you've probably got a serious need for a new piston and rings, hopefully not x 2 .Buy a cg clone ,it may be cheaper than fixing a blown engine.

except all the hyosungs i seen are well built and south korea is about a decade ahead of us in terms of economy and technology reason their bikes development is so slow is theres not a huge demand for them in country as the south korean public transport system is so good ....i know a guy who has the comit 125 32000 miles no problems tho i wouldnt mind owning it myself infinatly better that the chinese bike i have atm lol at the hyosungs all use propper tyre sizes non of the 18 / 1.75 bs that all us cg / cgclone en cbr .....125 owners have to endure Sad

+1 ive had 2 Hyo's and still ride one now.
No problems at all (other than the usual carb tinkering and consumables).

Sounds to me like its running on 1 cylinder, check your main jets in the carbs. they can get shit in them sometimes.

If it gets to 1 cylinder it will seriously drop in power and wont idle at all, happened to me in the past, sometimes leathering it through a few gears at high revs shifted it and it started firing on both again.
