"It wouldn't change my life a single bit......"

Bollocks it wouldn't!

Being able to have a secure future for my family especially my kids. Get my Dad the best care possible, so he could move back home with my Mum (Alzheimer's is a bastard illness).

Take time and enjoying buying a family home.

Take a long holiday.

Buy a new bike or two or three....

Take good financial advice.

Pay off friends mortgages, set a few up with business ideas they've been toying with for years.

In an elaborate set up, my Mum would win a lottery....!

Sit back and smile, then consider the future and what happens next.

Seriously? I'd build a nice new housing estate, walled and gated, and then personally vet every prospective occupant to keep spackers, mongs, mentals, spongers, pikeys, drunkards, junkies and other undesirable riff-raff out. That'd be my advertising pitch.

Oh, and every house would get a free copy of the Telegraph delivered every day. Anyone caught reading the Gruaniad would be evicted.

Also, no fat chicks.

I'd buy happiness.

Some say you cant buy happiness but 160 million begs to differ. The prime cause of domestic arguments is over money. Take that out of the equasion, which I believe that much money would do easilly,. and happiness is achieved.

It wouldnt change me. I'd still be a prick. I'd just be a rich prick. Laughing

I'd travel, and every country I liked, I'd buy a house there, not necessarily a big flash house, just a little house in a place I really liked, so that each one was different from the others.

And I'd park a bike there, any old sort, just something that goes, so I had something to bang around on.

Then I'd just think "Oh, might pop over to the house in (say) Costa Rica for the weekend and do the garden" and hop on a flight / boat.

In fact I might learn to fly and buy myself a little plane.

I'd like to visit every country in the world, every city in the world. Not to just stay in some fancy hotel, but like like a local for a few days, eat the local food and meet the locals in the bar and take in the sites.

Even in these straitened times of crappy bank interest rates, if you stuck it in the bank in a shitty little savings account at 2.5% interest, you could still live comfortably

(Natwest are giving 2.5%, and that's 3.8million a year in interest without even blinking an eyelid)

It's such a buzz to go into a bank where you have wedge in a crappy little account and say "I'd like to take out £2,000 please".

So they look at you, stomping in their posh little bank in your biker gear, and they punch in your account details and their eyes light up and they go "Of course Mrs Sano, would you like an envelope for that?"

Imagine if you had 155,000,000 in there !!

"What? That old bunch of money? Naahhhh, I'll just stick it in the bank and leave it there for now."

Mind you, you'd not want to put the whole lot in one bank, would ya.

RBS? ... I doan theenk so, Senor. That'll not do nicely!

I'd call up a double glazing company and give them details on my dads house. I'd meet them outside, smash his window, go inside and find his bank details then leave them to fix the window. I'd transfer a million into his bank account and say nothing. The look on his face when he checks his balance or gets a statement would be priceless Laughing

I would buy a nice plot of land and build several houses on. Like a spanish villa kind of thing. Have a nice garage with all the mod cons and fill with cars and bikes. Move my family into the Villa and some close friends aswell. Dish out a million pound each to a few select people, go on a few holidays to places I've always wanted to go to. Then get back and set up a business that I will enjoy. I wouldn't even work for the money just doing something that's enjoyable. Otherwise i'd just be a hermit with a fuck load of money playing pinball all day.

I find 160 Million a bit hard to comprehend having in my bank account.

First thing I would do is dish out a few mil' between the family.
I'd then go on a good tour around the world for several years.
I'd probably like to settle down somewhere so would buy my way in and buy a nice house.
In the house I'd have a decent cinema room, music room, etc.
In the garage I'd have a small but useful selection of bikes and cars.
I'd probably buy a nice yacht.
I'd then just live in luxury but not overindulging myself.
I'd also experience as much as I could.

Definitely keep enough money to not have to worry about it, or even think about it.

I'd be generous to the right people, people who deserved it (not that my getting lucky on the lottery would put me in the position to decide who deserved it).

I say that, but I have to wonder how far 160 mil' would go.

I don't think I would change much as a person though, maybe a bit more confident but not arrogant. I'd probably just consider myself one lucky bastard and wouldn't let it get to my head.

20 million would set you for life if you were half intelligent...

160 million? I'd buy an island and make my own microstate, trying to recreate Pala.

I'd give a million to each of my friends, which would leave me with 160 million for the aforementioned coke and whores.

Problem is the banking groups only gaurantee £80,000, so if even if you put some of it in every seperate banking group in the country if any of them went bust you'd lose millions and millions. The only safe way is to build some kind of fortress to keep it all in cash, then you earn no interest. Investment would be the way or assetts.

I think my first plan would also be a hitman though, one that could time travel, and if he was successfull this thread would never have started.

Might get some dubbin for my boots.

Will donate the rest to a BCF party(can't go as the dubbin needs time to soak in)

Hasn't there been a similar post to this before only with the topic of just winning the normal lottery.

For me it would be:

Travel (whole world by any means).
Buy house
Buy Garage
Buy Shitload of bikes
Buy shitload of cars.

Then die. Karma

I think the most wise investment of 160 million would be in land, the price has only ever gone up since they stopped making it Wink
Property would be good too.

Putting money in the bank is deceptive as the interest you earn is only really cancelling out inflation. So 1 million in the bank may sound like you're sorted for live but that's actually 50 years * £20,000 and as the amount goes down the interest you earn off it does too, so in 50 years time that 20k might be the equivilant of 5k now. So i think you have to either buy yourself a house, or invest the money in something at least slightly risky.
