It will be fine - It will only go as fast as you want it to!
Bear in mind though, in first gear on the bandit you will probably have a higher top speed than you did on your scooter.
Take it easy with the clutch/throttle until your used to it, then open it up more/more and enjoy it and learn to make the most of the power.
33bhp is fast enough to do everything you could want to on the roads, and will keep up with the larger bikes on twisties too, maybe not the long straights but it never bothered me when I was restricted
Hope that helps?  ____________________ Current bike: 2005 Triumph Speed Triple 1050 :: Previous Bikes: 2001 Kawasaki ZZR-600 E9 (Sold) 1996 Yamaha Diversion 600s (Sold),1997 Honda CB250 Nighthawk (Sold), 1988 Honda VFR 400 NC24 (Written Off), 1987 Honda CB350 S-G (Sold), Yamaha DT125 (Sold), Honda X8R-S 50cc (Stolen) |

Aw, I was sure this was going to be about fitting a 33bhp powerband.
You're sensible enough to actually know the law, so I reckon you're sensible enough to control your right wrist. Just do take it easy for a while, and try not to let the red mist get to you. Even at 33bhp you'll be able to leave most cars for dead up to NSL speeds, so don't feel that you have to prove it. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

I went from a 14hp v twin to a 50 horse power old style gs500.
Then from an 11hp 2 stroke commuter to a 100hp sports
You'll be fine. Admittedly the power increase will be noticeable.. but after a few hours on it, you'll be so used to it |

I'll say what I say to anyone looking at getting a Bandit, don't! There are better bikes out there for the money. They made the bandits out of lead, they weight about 215kg (dry) compared to Triumph Speed Fours or Hornets which are 170/180, everything on them is budget, for the similar money you could get a Hornet/Speed Four which are much better spec'd the S4 has Fully adjustable suspension and about 20 more BHP.

But not restricted.
I don't have enough experience to justify agreeing with you about Bandits (although I do ), but I nearly wet myself laughing at what he's asking for that chavved-out (and probably crashed out) example. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Not agreeing with all this Bandit bashing here but each to their own and that. End of the day sit on a few bikes and try test rides before you make a concrete decision, I got lucky with a Bandit had only ever sat and ridden one up and down the street before I bought my own but suits me fine easy to work on and enjoyable to ride but then again I had a ride of my cousins CBR 600F and honestly I just didn't enjoy it where most say its just a hands down better bike than a Bandit so I guess i'm a minority on that but I'm riding the bike of my dreams and loving it ____________________ Current: 02 FZS 1000 & 91 Royal Enfield Bullet 350 Some Bike Pics...
