Bike has always started no problem, has only done 12500 miles.
Today I stopped for a minute to make a call home and when I tried to restart her, when I pressed the button nothing happens apart from the red oil light comes on and the green neutral light goes off. Called out the AA man he managed to get the starter motor to turn over just like normal but it would not start, plenty of fuel in it, just wont spark up. Anyone got any suggestions please.
Thanks in anticipation.

Is the kill switch on? I had an XJ600 which did the same thing and it was the kill switch wire that had detached.

Tried the kill switch it's ok cheers though, I suspect it is something to do with the gear changing/selection situation.

Does the green neutral light go off by pressing the start button? If so you have an earthing issue most likely. Check the battery negative terminal and the other end of that lead too.
