Which Tank Bag / rucksack

Hi guys

I've done a quick search and couldnt find anything sPecific. I'm looking for a tank bag and/or rucksack for my bandit 600s.

Will be used for my commute, and perhaps useful for doing a bit of storage when touring (or can't you mix?)

Not looking to spend a fortune,but somethig hardwearing and waterproof(ish).

Hi dan.
It depends on how much you want to carry mate not a great lover of ruck sacks myself.
A good combo is a tank bag and top box.. you can put helmets in a top box and remove when not in use..
Have a look on ebay you can pick up loads of bargains.

It's up to you what you buy (brand/colour whatever). It's called personal choice. I would suggest you don't wear a rucksack on your back when riding, attach it to the bike.

i have a kriega ruck sack which im very impressed with, has a funny locking system which means the weights spread around and doesnt hurt your back/shoulders and the weight doesnt move.

they are slightly pricey, theres probably similar bags that are cheaper but i dont know

I have an Oxford Humpback tank bag on my Hornet and it holds on nicely at 110mph with no problems. I got it in 2005 and been used 2-3 times a week in all weathers and it still looks good as new.

They come with a lifetime warranty as well.

Kreiga are good, i have a us10, however ref securing to the bike, imo get your own straps / bungees ...

They cost a bit, decent strong bungees with plastics hooks, and Rok straps ..

Thanks for the suggestions. I was looking for some brands to look at, and some to avoid based on peoples experiences.

Was dubious about oxford stuff, as Ive heard they're pretty naff with their quality. If they're alright, then cheap and cheerfull might be the way forward for the moment. The kreiga stuff looks interesting I'll set some reminders on ebay for it!

Has anyone had any expereince of Knox rucksacks?

Any other suggestions please feel free....

Another vote for Kreiga, very well made and works well. Looks pretty good too. Downside is the price, but worth it in my opinion. I have the rucksack and the tailpack - which does me.

Before I got the Kreiga, I used a Musto backpack, waterproof and comfy. Any of the sailing kit companies make good stuff, Gul, Henri Lloyd, HH, Musto, Gill etc...

You pay your money, but in return you get comfort, practicality, waterproofing, build quality and a product designed for bikers.

Click that vid and you'll see me try it out with a race suit. My Alpinestars Tech1R jacket has a race hump and I use that to commute to work every day with... no issues with any of the kriega stuff.

Your lumbar region will thank you when you've picked Kriega! Other brands needn't apply!

Don't really mind rucksack myself but for camping next month. I've had little look at some tail packs as I don't like tank bags blocking fuel cap and generally in the way imo.

Prior to me getting a car, whenever I used to go to festivals, I managed to fit everything for the 4 days in my US20/US10, including 2 pairs of trainers, a hoodie and 2 jeans as well as some shorts. Kreiga also do a US30.

Their rolltop system is simple... no broken zips to worry about - i've had a few snag on my oxford.

The rollbag design allows you to pack as little or as much as physically possible. And their straps hug your pillion/bodywork as tight as possible.

I ALWAYS bung sensitve equipment or documents in kriega because they come out bone dry. The only thing I'd put in my oxford panniers would be dirty clothes! The waterproof overcovers are hassle because you only put them on when you need to... and when you don't need them, they just take up valuable space.

Kriega US20 if you don't want a rucksack. BUT if you DO get a kriega rucksack - R15/20/25/30/35, you can lash on a US10/5 onto them to bolster their capacity.

Kriega R30+US10 FTW... let your pillion carry it and you're set for a weekend away!
