 |
|
I have a bizarre phobia in that, if I visit people who's pets seemingly take over the house (as in their hair gets everywhere or the cat litter tray lives in the kitchen) when I visit I will refuse a drink, unless I can make it (whereby I will rinse, empty then re-fill the kettle, rinse a mug and wipe the surfaces down before making the drink and I will always refuse home-cooked food.
There are some friends who must wonder why I never ever eaten nor had a drink at their house.
Does anyone else share this phobia?
Has anyone had a similar phobia which they have managed to overcome? ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss

See, I have a black lab and her fur gets fooking everywhere. We have pale carpets and we have to hoover every day otherwise it looks properly skanky.
Her fur gets in the food.....somehow. I used to hook them out, but to be honest when I see them now I can't be arsed!! |

You may have an abnormal oversensitive reaction to deisease.I have the same thing over many years when visiting relatives freinds.Looking back I was right, they were scruffy bastards and they did'nt control their animals or have a basic level of kitchen hygene.
Well at least your not going to get worms or samonella.
After being a chef for a few years I though I'd become phobic about eating out /takeaways or at others house but realised that my doctorate(food hygene certificate) and my experience of cheffing had just made me aware how much danger is out there!Food kills.
Now I'm an older git,im even worse and judge people's competence on wether they can make a decent brew, refuse brews at mates who use shite teabags and leave a scum mark in their cups.
Still scratch my ass, pick my nose and clean my hands after mechanicing with a old rag that all the local cats have probably shagged, and still shake hands with people, its a good job germs are invisible or we'd all die of starvation. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. Suppose everyones different!I think as you get older you unconciously fear deisease and react to protect yourself,i dread chest infections and people with snotty colds n flu as a lot of older ones seem to croak with pnunomia.I caught worms when the kids were little, probably off the cat.,
I 'm in a 24 hr care home at the mo and Never have a dump here and use tissue to touch the communal kettle, never touch the banisters and scrub everything I use,i'm paranoid about hepatitus and shite teabags! But thats common sense with strangers.whe i used to visit one of me sisters there was dog hair, smell of dogshit/old food in the carpet etc.....I 'd have a brew there and was glad she was such an unculterd slob because at least the milk was sterilised.
You do right Clanger,if you go abroad you'd probably not get 'greek stomach'. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. As you get older you realise what a load of bollocks it is. And are parents on the most part were conditioned early on in their lives by the introduction of media and more importantly, commercial advertising.
Then our parents passed on the lies of old to us, so we too grow up buying lots of products we don't need.
Now someone earlier mentioned basic hygiene, which is correct, emphasis on the work basic.
Theres a clear reason why many kids are full of allergy's etc, as they have not been exposed to a sufficient amount of bacteria / germs etc, and are therefore not as healthy as other kids, all because of the lining of commercial pockets through the doom and gloom lies of illness and disease that does not actually materialise in anyway near the quantity they would have us believe, should we not buy said products.
Basic hygiene, is washing your hands after a shit, and not mixing cooked and uncooked meats. Having a shower every few days, or more if you have exerted yourself.
I have asda bleach, degreaser, cheapo toilet cleaner, wet wipes and bathroom ' stuff '. All the rest is overkill and a waste of money imo.
See the reality of whats NEEDED, not reacting to an ingrain thought process imprinted long long ago. ____________________ Jogging on, destination living. |

I refuse to eat or drink at homes that I think looks dirty. When I say dirty, I mean sticky carpets that stick to my shoe. Cat smell and fur around etc...
I use to go with an optom to test home visit patients and some were just unable to clean let alone get up.
Often it would be piss, real bad. Most had junk everywhere, and it was clearly dirty. ____________________ Hit the G spot. |

I had a phobia about dogs................... then I married one.
Seriously, I had a real phobia about dogs ever since I was knocked over by one as a small child. It was only when I got one as a pup that it cured me. I still get little tinges at some I see, but I just get on with it. ____________________ Famous last words of Humpty Dumpty. " Stop pushing me "

I have a phobia of horses and something to do with the sea/being in water that I can't see under
Feel slightly uncomfortable around horses, wouldn't like to be round many ofthem
Feel hugely uncomfortable swimming in the sea, but I've done it and I'll do it again (most likely never on my own in very deep sea)
My third and last is ghosts, never know to mention them as people don't believe and I'm not sure if I do myself but I'm almost certain that if I saw on I'd actually start crying and curl up in to a ball or just die suddenly of a heart attack, my eyes water thinking about seeing one, fuck that ____________________ Seem to not have enough karma to post :l |

I have a phobia about being arrested on serious firearms allegations and held for 18 hours in a cell without a toilet and refused any food and drink and forced to piss on the floor because they refused to answer the buzzer for 5 hours. Its happend twice now......result no charge! Its got worse after watching a police officer punch an innocent shopper in the face....FTpolice[img]
The problem started when I was bugging masonic lodges in the north west and northhampton and finding out where much of our public money goes, particulary the fraud of Care Service UK ltd.A quasi private healthcare company that was paid nearly a billion last year for operations it had'nt done, like 2/3 rds that it had'nt done but was paid cash by the taxpayer upfront! ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. Clanger..did you eat or drink at the BBQ? If so, I did touch all the food there, all the cup and glasses and the chairs.
I was picking toilet paper from my bum just beforehand |

I'm not a fan of drinking out of cups that's not mine. Seriously, I can visit somebody's home for years before I agree to have a drink.
And that's without any hairy pets leaving stuff everywhere. So I think your so-called phobia is pretty tame.
My major thing is cockroaches. I want to scratch my fingernails across the back of my hand with the very thought of a flying cockroach. I'd happily go out with a rusty spade to deal with a dozen snakes (& Australia has the most dangerous snakes in the world); but cockroaches I'd prefer not to.
I'm not sure that's a phobia though, they're disgusting things. ____________________ Caution : Doesn't come with 1698-B sanity certification

Really strange. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. If you want to save the world, you have to push a few old ladies down the stairs.
