As the title says really..
Have you ever had a go on a bike and its been a lot more powerful than you thought it would be..
Same the other way... any let you down and smashed the dream? |

When i first serviced, checked and prepped my RXS100 for the first ride.
I had a blast round town and ended up showing up some kids on some very modern strokers Aprilia, yam’s, you name it..to 60 it was a wicked little bike. I instantly fell in love with that little stroker.
Suzuki GSR600. The flames stuck on the tank did it no favours either. Awful bike. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

My Tilly S.
I've owned the R before and assumed that the S would be much the same but a little slower.
I was wrong. Turns out this bike has been 'played with' and I'm not sure exactly what has been done but damn it's lively.
Letdown:
Big time, Triumph Trophy 1200.
Read the internet and spoke to friends who all said they were good bikes and perfect for touring.
Bought a minter on a 98 plate with only 12k.
It was soft and spongy, it leaked oil faster than my Land rover, everything just felt cheap. ____________________ Check out our tackle shop on Facebook:

Moto Guzzi California.
A mate bought one in the mid nineties, stripped off all the luggage and tat, converted the footplates to pegs and fitted straight bars instead of the ape hangers.
Ended up with a really quick and comfy bike. It could easily keep up with sports tourers of that era and the handling was surprisingly decent. I took it over the mountain on the Isle of Man a few times and it was surprisingly capable.
Never really been disappointed by a bike. I’ve ridden a few crap ones in my time, but I knew they were going to be crap before we started so no surprises. ____________________ 2007 CBF1000 & 2016 CBF1000F - Commuter heaven | 1994 CBR600FR - Awaiting defibrillation |

Not ridden but I had my arse kicked by an early/mid-nineties GSXR 750. It overtook me whilst I was doing about 80 round a long right-hander. Ever since that day I've wanted one. ____________________ H100 Breaking for spares |

Enjoying your gixxer Paddy?
My mate got rid of his CBR steely and bought a brand new one. Novice rider. I asked him if he'd been for a test-ride on one before putting on a deposit, and he said 'Nope, I haven't even sat on one - I just like the look of it'.
Needless to say, it was a bit of a surprise to him. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

New ZX6-r, I'm used to my SV650 so when I had a test ride on that I was not reving it hard, it pulled quite well low down I thought then I decided to take it to the limiter in 2nd
It has not far off double the horsepower of the SV, far far better suspension and brakes and on a 1 hour ride was also more comfortable. I was expecting it to be different but I have never had my guts shoved back like that, even in a M3 track car |

Not for power per say but have been smiling at the numbers tumbling when giving it the beans as its shocked me just how quick it takes to get from x mph to y mph.
However, I have been proved wrong on handling of a bike.
When I first got my TRX850 it was bought as a cheap bike to get me to and from work. On the 80 mile return journey from collecting it it was uncomfortable and I just didn't seem to gel with it. Move forward a few weeks and all my bad views on it were turned on its head. The nice power, torque and handling were right up my street and suited me so much better than most bikes before and after. Never judge a book by its cover.
