Hi

I have an issue with the brake light (when front brake is used) in that it doesn't come on but works fine with the rear. Also the horn no longer functions. Before I start stripping bits and hoping to come across the problem by chance (bit of a newbie with bikes). Is there something obvious I need to be looking for? Could the 2 problems be connected?

I've looked at the connections around the lever and horn and the look OK.

Bike is an RS125 2000 plate.

Thanks in advance

Simon

try a new brake light switch for the brake lever chances are its that, you can try shorting it by putting the two connectors together to check if it is the switch as it will complete the circuit, then horn most probbally the actual horn as in the noise making bit

Just nipped in to the car park at work and tried shorting it and the light did come on, connected them back on and nothing until you really pull the leaver in. Breaks are very sharp so I'm guessing I'm just not pulling the lever hard enough. Will have a look later to see if there is an adjuster - otherwise new switch it is.
Cheers

Didn't notice if it was a delay or the position of the lever but for £10 will just order a new one.

Will the same principle work with the horn - close the circuit and it should sound? If it doesn't new horn!

Cheers

it should but it will be difficult as the switch gear will be a sealed unit, only other thing i can suguest is take it of and use another power source (another bike) to test it and again a horn shouldnt be to much aswell
