When my 1996 Suzuki Bandit 600S is parked, what position should I leave the vacuum petcock in: Pri, On, Res? After an 80K run, gas will slowly leak from carbs. I think if I could shut off the petcock, I could stop this annoying slight leak. Thoughts?
Thanks,
BBM

Thanks Vincent. I'll check out replacing the petcock. I looked at the carbs and valves about a month ago and they really looked clean.

Thanks for your help. I will proceed as suggested. I hate leaks of any sort, especially fuel!!!!

Vincent, by the way, what is the best position for the petcock to be in, while the bike is parked, or doesn't it make any difference?

Leave it in 'on'.

It's a vacuum switch jobby so no fuel will flow unless the engine is on.

If you leave it in 'prime' fuel will flow regardless so its not the best thing to leave it on if you have a leak.
