You wont go far wrong with a Honda CG 125 of lovelyness.
It might take you a while but they just go on and on.
If someone said to me that I must use a CG 125 to go to Scotland and back I would not be worried at all
I`ve been all round East Anglia on mine with not so much as a skipped beat, just make sure you change the oil regularly ____________________ I am the sum total of my own existence, what went before makes me who I am now! |

I'd suggest a Honda CB100N...... if it wasn't for the ambition of getting more than 100 miles, without a breakdown.... mechanical or nervouse!
What's the 'Full Story' event rules wise? - Under 100cc 4T or 50cc 2T sounds reminiscent of moped mayhem rules?
Which would effectively rule out RSX100's and the ilk, possibly even something like an old AR80, and certainly CG125's.
For an 'event', I think I'd be thinking 'colour' and maybe a road legal pit bike, or an old Puch Maxi, for something 'different'. BSA / Areal 3? perhaps?
Two stroke, under 100cc...any of the old 80's bikes; AR80 may be a bit cramped, but dirt wheels? KE100 perhaps?
Four stroke, and only notionally more 'reliable' than CB100, Honda XL100? At least you KNOW the drum brake wont stop you in a hurry, rather than the 'will-it-wont-it' roulette of the CB's cable disk!
Vespa 90, if larger 2T is permitted may be a worthy candidate. Tough as old boot, and a bit comfy. Didn't Vespa do a couple of 100cc scooters? were any 4T?
Think the C90 idea is the most 'obvious', but how big was the Yamaha Town-Mate? That had shaft drive and an e-start if I remember? How big was it, was it 100? 110? or full 125? or did thy offer different capacities? (Can you tell I'm not THAT clued up on the step through varities?)
What about a Lambretta 110 with side car?
(Had a model of on as a kid; thought it was a joke till some-one turned up with one at a bike meet! The toy never did it justice!) ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
Current Bikes:'Honda VF1000F' ;'CB750F2N' ;'CB125TD ( 6 3 of em!)'; 'Montesa Cota 248'. Learner FAQ's:= 'U want to Ride a Motorbike! Where Do U start?' |
