I just use a toothbrush against the chain while revving it in fifth, gets all the surface shlt off, then spray away. Chains last a long time on YBR provided you don't try to wheelie it everywhere

Paraffin in a squirty bottle and a 'gunge brush' to clean/rinse, then dry it with an old rag. Engine oil or gear oil with a paint brush applied to the inside of the chain (wipe off excess with an old rag) to lube. Don't waste your money on expensive chain lubes that do the same (sometimes worse) job. Just adding more lube without cleaning makes grinding paste.

I spray engine degreaser on it then wait for 2 minutes. Parafin or white spirit or maybe wd40 does the job too. After that toothbrush and rag. Then spray it with a motul chain lubricant thingy. Wipe off excess oil.

Centre stand and leave the bike off..

Clean the chain with a degreaser.

Then if you want to start the bike up and use a toothbrush to add old engine oil/chain lube/spray can stuff to the chain.

You can do this with the engine off if you wanted to... depends how big your balls are Wink

WD40 messes it up if you use it as a lube, if your using it to clean something then lubing it then its alright. but yeah, dont use it as the lube itself

Best to avoid running the engine to move the chain. You'd miss those finger tips if you had an accident.

If you don't have a center stand or paddock stand - roll the bike forward a foot to get to the bits of chain out of sight on the front sprocket.

I bought a second hand scottoiler from ebay which i fill with engine oil. Keeps the chain lubed really well - as long as you can live with the fling on the back wheel/number plate. Not everyone likes chain oilers though.

Oh, and if you haven't already - buy some Swarfega. Smile
