I went to Hein Gericke today to buy some RST leather pants. On the way I was listening to the news on the radio and picked up something vaguely about a teenage being killed in a road collision about 10 minutes away from me. I'm like 'oooooh shit' but didn't think much more of it. Anyway, I buy the leathers, go home, open Facebook and see R.I.P. Ben spammed pretty much everywhere. I don't know the guy and didn't know what happened, so I looked up his name in the local newspaper.
While searching, I find another article of a biker who was killed on the same day!
Absolutely gutted. Two guys both so young killed in separate motorbike accidents on the same day. I think the fact that they both live less than 10 minutes from me, and both around the same age just brings it home that it could happen to any one of us. It actually made me question, should I be biking? But life is full of dangers, huh.

Unless you know them (or know someone that knows them) it's just a statistic. People die every day, in various ways; sure, it sucks for the people who knew and loved them, but in reality, how "gutted" are you really if you had to go searching newspapers and farcebook for the details to be gutted about?
The Oxfam ads showing little Mbongo having to walk 3000 miles daily for a drink of piss whilst carrying his mother and 5 sisters must have you suicidal. ____________________ Chances are quite high you are not in my Monkeysphere, and I don't care about you. Don't take it personally.
