The scale goes both ways. Do you ever worry that you look silly on a bike? Be it too large or too small?

I'm 6'2" and ahem, portly.

For years I was worrying if I looked stupid riding smaller framed bikes so I have always pretty much gone for sports tourers and the like.
I bought a TLR and sold it within a month because I saw my reflection in a shop window and just thought ...damn..

After over a year and a half I've now gone back to a TLS after selling my Thunderace as I love the sound and feel of the bike. I've had enough of worrying about what I look like and now I'm actually starting to really enjoy riding again, especially when I have to commute.

It may sound stupid but I just wondered if any others felt the same i.e too small for a big bike or too large for a small bike etc.

not really arsed what I look like size wise much, its more how the bike feels to me. Gixxer feels perfectly sized for my arm reach leg reach etc etc. Other bikes Ive liked ive ruled out straight away just by sitting on them. R1's for example - feels like sitting on a shuttle compared to the gsxr. Not particularly reach wise etc but the front fairing and tank feel huge which im not really a fan of.

I usually have to go to shows, promos or just to dealerships before I consider changing bikes...
I'm not too bothered how I look on various bikes, but usually have to try a test-fit cos I'm relatively short.

I'd love to try out one of the big trailies, or maybe a road legal supermoto, but I'm just too short.. I've even had issues with some litre bikes Embarassed

I am 5'5" and I used to ride a Triumph Daytona 955i. I probably wasn't really the right size to 'dominate' the bike on track etc.

At the moment I've got a Buell XB12S which most people find very small but its about right for me. Same with the FZR400 I have. Its exactly the right size for me as a sportsbike.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Never really worried. Both bikes YBR+R6 are massively different in size but both feel absolutely perfect for me

6'3" and 15-16st (I'm trying to loose a bit of weight , although I dont look fat Wink )
I manage to fit onto/into my 1098s with no real cramping issues and I dont think I look too big for it when I've caught a glimpse of my reflection in a shop window, not that I was actively looking or owt' Embarassed

My brother has a Daytona 675 and he's about 6'2" and 12st I though he was going to be waaayyyy too bit for it but it seems to fit him nicely and he doesnt have and comfort complaints.

I'm 6'3" and over 20stone

Certain people I know are trying to convince me to get a Honda c90 for commuting in town, I'm fairly convinced that I'll look like the Circus Bear riding a Tricicle Shocked

I used to get TOLD I look stupid on a TZR 125, 15st and 6ft1, looks top-heavy with the thin little tyres.

My mate then got a TZR 125 also, and at 6ft3 and 18st, we apparently looked like "tweedle dee and tweedle dum" according to my girlfriend lol.

Not too fussed for looks really, having an L plate never bothered me either.

Hi

Only about 5'8" (mmm, probably shrinking now) so don't tend to have the problem that bikes look too small.

But suspect most of us look so bad anyway that looking worse from riding an odd size bike doesn't really make thing look that much worse.

All the best

Keith

I'm 6'6 and a tubby bitch (22st). I rode my delightful chinese 125 for 6 months with no issues. As one of my mates put it, I looked like a wookiee on a tricycle! Yes, I looked very silly riding it, but I soon learned not to give a shit, cos I had a bike and it was awesome!

I'm now on a Bandit 6. It still looks a bit wee, but it handles just fime with me on it.

Like hmmmnz said; if it does the job, who gives a fuck what anyone else thinks Thumbs Up

I'm 6'2, as well but only 12st the only bike that felt truly wrong for me was my YBR in size and other things. Varadero felt like it was built for me, perfect seat height, peg distance and dimensions.
Bandit feels like its too small for me sometimes but after seeing a photo of me on it looks quite the opposite, maybe its the return to a naked bike with only bars and clocks barely visible in front of me Thinking

Heh, the question is, how many of them would be touching the ground if I stood up too quickly.. it might get.. wedged? Very Happy

I did my first basic training day on a cg125 and had a fair amount of trouble with my knees getting in the way of my arms for low-speed turns.. did my das test 125day on a YBR and didn't have any problems apart from feeling a little wobbly when leaning in to turns, I put that down to practically being heavier than the bike.

edit. forgot to say, I ride a GPz900r now, 550Lb quoted weight and it feels fine Smile

I look normal sized when I'm riding my TZR250. I'm small.

I'm sure the Blackbird dwarfs me, but I don't care, because no one gets much of a chance to look...it's just too quick Laughing

not sure how I look on the beloved xrv, I'll get a photo taken one day... 5'8", 11 1/2 stone...getting my seat cut down an inch or so just to be on the safe side, as I safely tiptoe when the bike is unloaded (i.e. 60 of my foot touching ground)...nearly nearly finished it ready for offroading Very Happy
there is a 90% chance that I will get a hernia from picking up for the 10th time in a row...
