Hi Guys.
i have replaced the front brake switch on my GT125R with a replacement one from ebay (its a suzuki part no: 57460-17C00 in the Hyosung parts manual).
The ebay one i bought is the exact same switch except the button is a little harder to push in and doesnt go 'click' when its pressed.

It works, but... the button's spring is too tight to be pushed back in by the lever, so when i press the lever in, it lights the rear brake, but when i release the lever the button stays out keeping the rear light lit.

Anyone know of a switch with this part no that goes 'click' like my oem one?
Im just worried i will fail my MOT with the current switch.

This happened to me once and as i recall i just slapped a wedge of araldite on the portion of the lever that makes contact with the switch and all was fine. Yeah its a bodge but its not like anyone can see it.

first of all check the brake adjustment is ok on the adjuster, then get a small screwdriver or plastic rod and force the brake light switch a little further up the tunnel towards the lever.some brake light switches are slotted so make sure its gone in the slot properly.
If that does'nt work and you still have the old switch then try taking it apart and cleaning it and see if you can bodge it.

Its a suzuki style switch

And ive played around with pushing the button in.

Its a sealed unit too, i tried to take the old one apart as i can imagine it being easy to fix but it just snapped into pieces Sad

I could bodge it but it might be questionable on an MOT and im not sur eit worth bodging when its only £4 to replace...

if i wedge something between the lever and the switch, to keep the switch compressed over night, would it soften the spring?

The MOT guy is one of my best mates, but... he is very particular (which is a good thing) and due to where he works they need him to be particular lol.

And if my bike wasnt MOT passable then i wouldnt want it to pass Laughing

I will try the araldite method Smile
