You can mix tread patterns as much as you want, makes no difference to the MOT, my car ALWAYS has mis matched tread patterns. I had four different brand tyres on there at one point . |

In any four wheeler you want to put the best tyres on the BACK, not the front. Understeer is far easier to control than oversteer.

I disagree but then again, untill recently I had a powerful rear drive car with no ABS or traction control so I kinda had to learn how to control a rear end slide Lots of fun
(1989 BMW 3 series with a 2.8 transplanted in and not left standard)
If you loose the back you can control it with the front because the front does most of the brakeing and steering.
If you loose the front you have just kissed goodbye to all your steering and 80% of your brakeing power untill you get those tyres gripping again, or hit something solid.
Back to the main point, as long as both fronts are the same size as eachother and both rears are the same size as eachother it's all good. Some cars are fitted as standard with different sizes front to back.
Oh, if it is a rotational tyre it must be fitted the right way for the side of the car that it is on, it will say on the sidewall. |
