So I was taking the missus into work today. She works in a building with a car park adjacent to a very steep hill (1/5 gradient or something crazy like that). It's not too difficult on a bike but with the added weight and instability of a pillion, you need some pretty good balancing skills.
I launched up the hill ready to turn into the car park and was greeted by two very slow moving pedestrians - in the middle of the road. I couldn't judge which direction they were going to go so I had to swerve the bike around them and take the corner even more tighter than normal. Big mistake. I lost balance and me, missus and bike fell over to the left.
I've dropped the bike before and it's not a real big issue. The worst thing was the bastard twatting pedestrians who had caused the issue just walked off - I had a woman on the back of the bike ffs!
I was pretty pumped full of adrenaline then and a bit shaky, struggling to pick the bike back up and luckily there was a couple of builders nearby who helped pick it up.
Damage: Nothing major (I hope). The gear stick 'nob' that protrudes has snapped off but I can somehow still change gear (good rubber grip on the soles of my boots). The mirrors are bent and twisted to fuck. My windshield is scratched up quite a bit but you can't really tell for all the dead flies And the worst is I've somehow managed to smash the perspex screen which covers my LCD panel. This is the bit I'm really concerned about as I really don't want to shell out on a new instrument panel for the sake of one smashed cover. Anyone know these if these are replaceable? (see attachment)
Other than that, nothing serious. I burnt my leg on the engine casing and it's gonna blister Was really more concerned about the missus as it's the second time she's gone over with the bike but luckily the mirrors and top box absorbed most of the impact and she's fine - really don't want to put her off riding pillion as she really enjoys it!
After cooling off a bit I decided to take the bike back home to avoid any rain getting on the LCD panel and come back to work in one of the cages. On my way back home not far from when the bike fwell, I saw the two bastards standing in a bus stop. I slowed to a crawl, revving the tits off the bike (baffle's out ) and saw them looking extremely anxious - I pointed to them and made the 'throat slit' sign - there were about 15 other people at the bus stop all looking at them. The look on their faces more than made up for what happened earlier ____________________ '10 Skyjet SJ125-23 - Crashed > '09 YBR 125 > '53 Suzuki SV650 - Died > 2010 Suzuki VanVan 125 > '87 Yamaha FZ750 Sold > VTR 1000 FireStorm - Sold > Honda CB1000R |

As much as I disagree (one of the few Laws the Americans have got right), pedestrians in this country have right of way. Its utterly stupid and typically english backwards thinking.
next time, leg out, ride past clipping them |

They knew I was there. I was going so slow I was on the verge of stopping (but as explained, I couldn't stop as I couldn't put both feet down). They saw me and made no attempt to get off the middle of the road or even out of my way. A pavement was there but they chose to casually stroll down the middle of the road ignoring me, my indicator light and my look of scorn. They weren't just crossing the road but using it instead of the pavement. I agree I could have handled the bike better - it's easy to consider these things on reflection.
Anyway, what I'm really after is advice on the smashed perspex lens/screen on my instrument panel. Any ideas on getting hold of one? ____________________ '10 Skyjet SJ125-23 - Crashed > '09 YBR 125 > '53 Suzuki SV650 - Died > 2010 Suzuki VanVan 125 > '87 Yamaha FZ750 Sold > VTR 1000 FireStorm - Sold > Honda CB1000R |

My, that's a lot of words just to say you can't ride for shit.
Have you thought of selling your bike and buying one of these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Box-Canvas-Print-Paul-Ross/dp/B001N6W8U0 ? ____________________ "That's it. You people have stood in my way long enough. I'm going to clown college."

Tempting after the feedback I've had today, but I'd have to fork out an extra grand. ____________________ '10 Skyjet SJ125-23 - Crashed > '09 YBR 125 > '53 Suzuki SV650 - Died > 2010 Suzuki VanVan 125 > '87 Yamaha FZ750 Sold > VTR 1000 FireStorm - Sold > Honda CB1000R |
