Hi All,

I think I'm in need of a new rear shock, starting to feel a lot of bumps/bobbing up and down etc.. Well I'm assuming this is due to the shock. I can still seem to control the bike ok, but very bouncy sometimes. Will this continually get worse or does the shock come to a point where it can't get now worse? Is there a possibilty of the spring breaking completely?
I'm also starting to hear/feel a slight rubbing it seems at the rear i think, once I've slowed down. I can sometimes feel it through the pegs on my feet. Nothing major, but definately aware of something rubbing it feels. Could this be related, any ideas on things to check/rule out?

Cheers

The rubbing sounds like a chain issue, clean and lube it.

What bike is it you may be able to get the shock rebuilt should cost about £100.

I had a new chain and sprockets fitted a few months back, will give it a clean and Lube though as I've been commuting a lot without scrubbing bike up.

It's an RF600r. Can they shock get to a point where the bike won't be rideable..?

Yes, it can lose all dampening and just basically run off the spring. Every bump the bike will bottom out and then try throw you off the seat. It should fail the MOT before it gets this bad though.
