What do they look like?

Rubber tubes that go around a bolt or bits of rubber that are glued on and stop things rubbing on metal?

You could probably fashion either out of a block of rubber, something like EPDM would do it however it will probably look a bit shit.

Simplest is to just cough up and buy some.

Foam type pipe insulation secured with tie-wraps also works well in such situations.

I'd try silicone gasket first, test it when you get your rubber to see if it sticks to it well enough for what you want, it'll stick fine to the frame just don't know how good to the actual rubber part. Other than that you're looking at an epoxy glue- proper araldite (not the quick stuff) or whatever. But try silicone first that won't cause any damage to the surfaces.

try Copydex carpet adhesive. It's a latex glue I think and sticks good and easy to remove when you need to.Should stick metal to plastic no bother and as it's latex it's a bit stretchy rather than brittle like a lot of glues.
