If you actually have to ask that question, then you're on the wrong forum.

Caterham blatantly, you'll probably fall asleep on that diversion.

But you must dress like Patrick MacGoohan. Nice blazer with piped lapels, period music, and be ready to wake up in the village. Or a rough facsimile thereof. Or Port Meiron.

I saw Toyah Wilcox filming there while on a dirty weekend. Happy days. https://www.portmeirion-village.com.

Neither, get out whatever it is behind the Caterham and keep the 7 for hillclimbing.

You have a Caterham, and you spend your time asking questions?

I'll take it off your hands if you are going to go on the divvy instead of experiencing the unadulterated masturbation that is open wheel motoring.

You are a penis Laughing

You'd be surprised. The 900 is a different beast to the 600.

I'd still take the Caterham though.

I had an XJ600 pre diversion, very different bike to a diversion, but i nearly fell alseep on that a few times. I'd expect the 900 to be heavier and lazier

Having that choice (or there abouts - both car and bike sportier) - even with a decently accelerating car, you still miss a lot of over taking opportunities you have on the bike.

To the point that even in fairly unpopulated national parks in the UK, you're still held up behind other cars a fair bit of the time. On the bike you're past a lot quicker.

Different matter if it was the West Coast of Scotland or something, of course.

it was a bit of a boast I admit! Embarassed Laughing

Strange thing though, the caterham is effing quick but at 80+ difficult to control on bumpy/twisty roads because the steering is so finely set.
On the same roads my 900 does 100+ easily without breaking a sweat and still feels very solid.

Overtaking is funny because you're almost looking ahead under the car in front instead of over! But the Caterham makes it so easy, doesn't really matter what part of the rev range it still kicks ass. On the bike it takes more work, making sure I'm over 5-6k otherwise the thing takes a while to speed up.

What really does it for the Caterham though is corners and noise, especially when drifting - my god, so easy to control but what a sound the exhaust makes!! Laughing Thumbs Up

(This is all done on track of course - the Caterham happened to come with a set of track tyres/wheels too!).

For me, the car every time although G does make a good point about the overtaking opportunities.

On the road I'd rather take out my MX5 or my Impreza, my bike is as much or more fun on the track but less fun on the road in my opinion. And of my cars, MX5 beats the Impreza hands down Wub

Lovely car by the way.

I built one of them[*] in my shed out of box steel and plywood when I were a lad. True story.

The first time I took it out on the road, I nearly soiled myself. Crashing through UK potholes from a few inches of height on stiff springs while peering along several acres of bonnet? Terrific, in the sense of terrifying.

Heh, I know what you mean about having to look under cars - or lean out to the side to try and see round. And twitchiness! Even with my sloppy column routing, the slightest wheel movement seemed to produce a neck snapping course change.

Brilliant fun though, although by the time I'd finished it[**] I was pretty sick of the sight of it and sold it on soon afterwards, a decision I've since had plenty of time to regret.

Hmm, makes me wonder if I'm due (another) mid life crisis... Laughing

[*] For very loose values of "them" - see the Locust. The particular incarnation of the company folded just after delivering the patterns, and this was pre-intartubes, so much of it was completed by rule of thumb. I managed to weld the axle on upside down on my first attempt. Embarassed

[**] For loose values of "finished" - kit cars tend to be "90% complete" from a few hours in and stay that way pretty much indefinitely.
