Aprilia RS125 " 1995 "

Tempreature Gauge Fluctuates between COLD and HOT

but the bike doesent over heat and runs really well

just wondering what advice you all have ?

could it be thermostat or the sensor in the head ?

Thanks

matt

How quickly does it change?
I doubt the termostat is responsible as it only opens and closes slowly. It's either a dodgy connection, our you have air in the system.

Hi

Sensor or wire between it and the temp gauge would be my guess as well.

All the best

Keith

As above sounds like a damaged wire.

Unless it's over a very long period in which case it could be the engine.

ie, cooler at high speeds and hot a low speeds.

Hi

Take the seat off. Undo the bolt at the front of the petrol tank. Lift the tank up (it is hinged at the back under the front of the seat).

Look under the tank and you will see the engine. Right at the top is the spark plug cap. Look about 1~2 inches back from that and you should find the temp sensor. My guess would be the wire is loose, possibly ground out on the engine itself or the frame.

All the best

Keith

You should be able to see a bolt at the top of the tank near the front. Allen key on my one.

You simply unbolt that and flip the tank up, might need to take the front seat off though!

Edit - Damn Keith..
