You can check the timing by using a multimeter across the points .I thought a 94 one would be electronic ignition though,
Basically you need to check that the points are just open as the 't' mark lines up,but adjusting it through the holes in the flywheel can be a pain so unless you really want to learn ride on full throttle down your local bike garage or spend many hours lying on your side fiddleing about.its the nearest you'll get to gynecology like lots of people with very old small strokers. ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. Theres a single crosshead screw that holds the points down.To adjust them you need to 'very slighly' slacken it.With the plug taken out (to make it easy to turn) turn the flywheel anti clockwise and you'll see the hump on the cam press against the points and open them.Adjust the points gap to within tolerance first then check the points are just opening when the 't' mark lines up on the casing mark. You can use a samll flatblade screwdriver to lever the point plate either way for fine adjustment.
if the points are reatrded then it will spitback a little and feel a little gutless.if they are too advanced then the engine will be revvy but tight and unable to rev at high speeds.
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO LEARN HOW TO DO KEYHOLE MAINTENANCE?good luck ____________________ nearly a normal tax paying tosser.......with ferrileness suzi100,cg125,cb125scb100n,cb175,cd100,cj250t,kh250,c15,125 bantam, super 6,rickman gs750,xt500,250rs,dt175,lifan125,dolomite1850,metro,Morris220ld,morrisfg,leyland princess, range rover, corsa,vw camper .now struggling with legs. the cg has a advance/retard device in the flywheel
you set the points to whatever spec it is and the spring opperated atu adjusts the timing centrifugally as the revs go up ____________________ '00 Aprilia RS50 > '92 Honda CG > '99 Yamaha Fazer > '91 Yamaha RXS > '79 Suzuki X5 > 01' Honda Cg > 07' Honda Cg > 82' Kawasaki Z200 > suzuki gsxr 400 gk73a > honda vfr 400 NC30 Mod 2 Passed 09/06/2011
