Hi guys

My hornet 600 will not start at all. Ive tried bumping it and it still wont start can smell a strong smell of petrol. It turns over ok just wont fire up. Ive recently changed the battery and the rectifier.

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks

Have you checked for a spark? And is the battery charged up?

If you're not getting a spark it could be a few things.
spark plugs
HT leads/plug caps
coil
pick up coil
engine not earthed
possibly side stand switch?

If you have a haynes service manual it should tell you how to test all of the above using a multi meter.

Thanks guys it has been looked at by an expert who says it is the ignition coil. Is this a common problem on hornets?

Not a common one (not like the CCT is anyway), no, but not impossible by any means.
