Hey guys, thought i might aswell whore some pictures of my new beast. picked it up on friday, done just over 400 miles on it since. Its soo nice to ride Very Happy
This is where it started ;-

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=227574

I restricted it myself on saturday, got the washers made for a fiver Wink I was a little dissapointed at first as top speed is similar to the 350 on a really good day, after 80 there isnt really much there but will sit at 90 happily when it gets there. Also, it wont be straining the engine as much as the 350 so im happy with that.

So onto the piccys

One of the previous owners obviously thought this was cool, personally i thinkits a bit cheesy so gonna try and remove it, along with the one on the other side Rolling Eyes

So, opinions welcome Thumbs Up

Are you sure you haven't slightly over-restricted it? I believe the difference in weight between your SV and my SFV are pretty minimal yet mine will do over 100mph (on a private road, of course) with the 33bhp ECU fitted, despite being more draggy as it's naked not faired.

There is also the possibility that you're a bit, erm, heavier than I am but I'm 6'4 and 13.5st.

Sounds quite heavily restricted to me!

Ive restricted a couple of these and they will all pull to the ton, they just go a bit flat higher up in the revs.

Nice bike though!

Really nice to ride tbh, had my first tankslapper the other night in that really heavy rain, combination of me putting on too much power too soon, rain, and that shiny tarmac stuff Shocked Its all about learning with a new bike though eh.

That is a possibility its over restricted. i got the washers made up using measurements off the sv650 forum, the i.d was meant to be 18.41mm, they could only do 18mm but didnt think that would make much difference....would it? Shocked
Nexus Icon wrote:

I'm 6'4 but only 12 stone Sad lost a fair bit of weight since i started working in a kitchen (should be the other way round, i know!) awkward hours means i miss tea and then just snack afterwards.

Im happy with it anyway, pursuit vehicle or not Laughing
I am terrified of dropping it, even basic maintenance like checking the oil and lubing the chain is a bitch! i was gonna get some crash bungs for it but i'd have to chop the lower fairings which i dont wanna do

That will be why!

Get some made in the correct diameter. Doesnt sound like a great place if they could only do it in a round figure. (used to work with CNC/lathes).

Yes it will make a difference.

Dammit! You SURE it'll be able to do 100? with just less than half a mm???

I'll put the word out and see if i can get some more done somewhere else, might just leave it tbh. If im gonna swap washers i may aswell just leave them out alltogether! its a bit of a ball ache to do again Confused

Good to know though Thumbs Up

Actually... Suppose i could just take them out and file down the holes a bit, wont be much obviously but i assume i'd have to keep the hole as circular as it is at the mo (if that makes sense Laughing )

inb4 you'll get bored quickly.

oh wait Laughing

Had a blue W reg one, was alright after coming back up from a 125. Did get boring fast but sounds like you love it!

I had the front wobble, not so much a tank slapper, just a really long fast constant bar wobble after hitting a little rut in the road at 110 Rolling Eyes Laughing

I've not had a tank slapper on mine yet, but it has 'shook it's head at me' a couple of times, the biggest was when it hit a catseye when I was winding on and moving out to overtake. Twisted Evil It got the old ticker going a bit but everything was fine Thumbs Up

Looking more closely at the pictures, it's had the exhaust chopped already and the standard can re-fitted to sell, this makes fitting a can a 10 min job at the most... DO IT!!! Laughing

Looks nice, I do quite like the curvy models to be honest, frame doesn't look as boring as mine.

Sorry about the delay guys, been busy with work and shizz Rolling Eyes

Well... i decided to take the restrictors out and measure the diametre to see how far out they were. Got them out easy enough, things are so much easier once you know what you're doing arent they Laughing

Got them out, turns out instead of 18.41mm they were in fact 16mm! Shocked That explains it! I filed them both down as close as i could, chucked them back in and now it feels much better. Will go up to 90 easily enough, ducked my head down the other day and i can confirm for the first time, i have made it into triple figures Very Happy Not being stupid or anything, havent done it since just wanted to see if my workmanship has worked. All on private roads ofcourse Wink

Cheers for the comments guys, i am pleased with it Twisted Evil

I am tempted but since i've bought it etc. im a little skint Sad My restrictions up in may and i feel fitting a new exhaust at the same time would be cool, bit of a present to myself for doing so well Laughing
