Do some research and see if a set of CB125RS wheels will go on.

Actually, Teflon Mike could probably answer that in a heartbeat.

It's a 125 Super-Dream....

Spokes, of which there are about 30 per wheel are around a quid each. Decent that would take a wider tyre, bearing in mind that 3.50 rear is about as big as you can go anyway, without the rubber fouling the swing-link.... about £70 a piece.... you'd have spent more than the bike's worth before looking for suitabel hubs to lace them to or building the things!

Buy a CG or CB-RS and stick super-dream engine in it.

i already have the cb though and it was free so spending a bit of money to build something i want is fine for me. i always build my own things.

i currently have a bobber rebel on the road which has a complete one off rear end that i built myself.

i dont mind spending a few ££'s on wheels as the only other big expense is going to be the paint.

my mate has a cg and i find it very flimsy

Trouble with the CB125 Super-Dream is that they aren't particularly obliging towards modding.

The rear suspension is great as stock, and if in good fettle; but the link arangement and frame to mount it offers little scope for creativity.
Forks too, are small and uncommon diameter and length, while head-stock a tad 'long' limiting options.

Styling wise; they were quite avant-guarde, with plastic mudguards and tail cowling with integral lamp...... while the air-boxes for the battery tray.

Slope of frame back-bone makes fitting different tanks awkward; its ALL just 'difficult' to do anything really creative with.

Its an irish directions job, "Ah, well I wuddnnee be wannin to start frum here, noo!"

CB125RS, is twin shock, and updated version of old CB125S the duel grandaddy of the CB125RS/CB125T and the CG125.

It has wire wheels as standard; and twin shocks and more condusive architecture for doing anything different.

And the small bore Honda's often share a crank-case casting mount pattern. a number of 98 - 233cc engines, singles and twins are 'almost' bolt for bolt interchangeable between frames.

Lots can be done in mix and match; but the Super-Dream is a bit of a pain in the arse!

JUST fitting wire spoke wheels to one; I know I saif cost of re-rimming, but limit of what rims you could use would be small, becouse of restriction on rubber width imposed by that shock linkage.

CG wheels and thier skinny rims would probably take tyres as wide as you can squeeze in there anyway.... Heavy though, and its already a heavy bike.

If you want to percevere with it, though, I'd suggest checking out motoard wheels; I dont know what the City Fly's wheel sizes are... but a 17" rim, might give you a bit more clerance un the horse shoe of the drop link, but dont know how wide you could go before risking fouling teh chain run......

Other hassle would be jacking it up to get back the 1/2 lost on ride height from smaller wheel, and whatever extra a low-pro tyre would add.

To quicken up a Super-Dream rear end needs to go 'up', but as yet I haven't found a way!

Stick one on the centre stand, and remove top shock pin, the wheel dont fall much before the links lock... there's not much scope to get anything with it, without major engineering! Linkage doesn't have convenient dog-bone connecting link to mess with; Cast iron horseshoe drop link, and knuckle....

Looking at it, I concluded only way to make any significant change would be to cut and shut the swing arm!

didn't the cb125t have wire wheels ???

A quick look around says they did, as did other variations, few diff wheels on egay too, would be pretty straight forward to put a set on tbh.

The very early CB125T 'Twin-Shock' had wires; they are rare. Model was introduced 1977, but from aprox '79, they had the first generation com-star.

Ben, I've got some wire wheels from a 1990 CB125TT (U.S. version of TDC?) I'm restoring with my wife. We were looking at getting some of the 3-spoke cast wheels to run modern tubeless street tyres. Would love to trade with you. Not sure if it would be cost-effective as we're in California.
