My sense of direction is really good.... but being a former delivery driver, and having 20+ years of pre-satnav road experience probably helps.
Even for destinations that I've never been to before, just a quickest look at a map for the general direction is usually more than enough ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

a quick glance at google maps... and then a gander at relevant landmarks on the route via street view and i can 9/11 times find my target... ____________________ NDB 19/10/1989 - 1/11/2010 |Nowhere.Elyseum wrote: I get the distinct feeling that Tim should be our secret weapon for future trolling. I tend to only stray far away when I'm out for a pleasure ride, I never have the need to go far with a destination in mind, so I tend to just ride until sufficiently lost (can sometimes be hard) then follow road signs home. HOWEVER, I HATE being out without my sat-nav available as a last resort, bigger motorways etc. are signposted well but getting into little towns and one way systems can be an arse. I was TERRIFIED to get lost on the 125 because it couldn't handle a motorway for any more than about 2 junctions, but the 500 lets me just fuck off out all day ____________________ 57 Huoniao HN125-8 - , 97 Kawasaki GPZ500S -

I'll admit that my sense of direction is about as good as a women's.
Now having a new job of being a delivery driver in a 3.5 ton van at 18 I'm hoping it will improve!

I used to have a good sense of direction..... and memory....... but 35+ years of smoking dope just about every day has put paid to that
Thank christ for the Sat Nav, without it, I'd never get anywhere. ____________________ Space Is Deep |

Very good for me but sat nav has made me lazy so recently i've been turning it off and just getting on with it.
I can make my way to most of uk cities with out it and got myself to brussels last friday without, so using it is just being damn lazy and i need to use my brain before it starts to rot ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? My sense of direction is alright if I know where I'm going - and if its somewhere local I can usually hack out a route from areas I know.
But, my ability to read road-signs is annoyingly under-par. |

Google maps before I leave with notes taped to the tank/tankbag if its a really tricky one. The ability to read roadsigns is pretty helpful; if I get truly lost then the iPhone has bailed me out a few times.
Also, ask people! If the don't look like a mental hillbilly bum-rapist, chances are they'll be quite helpful. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600
