First of all sorry for the long post
Just wondering has anyone got any advice out there about helmets basically I'm after ideally a Flip Face Helmet that can stay open when riding however looking at about £150 maximum budget because of riding in winter I don't know what is going to happen.
I know you can't really suggest any helmet as it depends what fits best however I've been looking at my local shops and hein gericke (queston about that one later on).
The helmets that have come up are Box SZ1 Takai, Hjc and Caberg has anyone had any usage of these before. My current helmet is a Takachi which I don't like and not really safe.
Also HG question with my only transport being bike or bus and the shop being two bus journeys away what is the best way of carrying shoppin on the bike ive got the tank bag and helmet bag at the moment. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Pretty sure only SCHUBERTH are approved to be riden with the flip front up.
So look @ £400+
But its ALL about fit.... £50 or £500 makes no diffrence.
A lot like your shopping on the bike....
Get panniers or a top box to carry it around. At a push a rucksack. Just don't put anything hard/sharp in there, should you fall off..... ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |

I use a tank bag (Lidl B-square), panniers (Oxford First Time) and a Motrax tail pack sold as a helmet bag - not sure if that's what you're talking about, it looks like this:
https://motorcycleworldl-spa.co.uk/images/uploads/HCC2BK_4.jpg
and another little tail bag which I used for waterproofs, first aid and multitool.
A big top box would hold a little more than the tail bag, but the combination can still hold a mighty load. If I don't get an "Are you taking all that on a bike?" at the checkout, I don't feel like I've done a proper shop. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Thank you to both of you think I like the Shuberth but can't justify spending £400 at the moment on a helmet also like the shark thanks for the replies.
I'll try the bike show at the Nec saw it on another thread and see if I can drop on some bargains. Tempted to go up by bike but will most probably end up going by train so I can carry more back. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

For winter and touring I have a nitro flip face that cost me about £150 I like it.
However, I really like the look of these new flip faces, that go up and over. |

Shark Evo is the only flip thats approved for open & full face riding at the moment, as far as I'm aware. Dont know anything about the Shuberth; could be approved, could be its a re-badged shark. I dont know.
Can say, after being shown an Evo in Busters, I was sorely tempted, but put of by price. Hunting a new hat for Snowie, she tried one on in J&S who's service was going down hill... again, price was too much. At £300 it was £100 more than a Shoei that was a much nicer hat.
Checking on line, though; she found the Shark for £190 a hat, so got us both one!
So shop around; you might luck in; its only a LITTLE over your budget, and you might find one on stall at NEC...
WHICH remember is only eight miles down the road from me; if you want to tootle on down, and go from here.
What can say about the Evoi is its a heavy hat, and the 'balence' in the open face possition is 'peculiar'.

AHG! All those hours painting & detailing that tank!
I HOPE you are using cargo net to attach tank bag to pullion seat, NOT scratching the heck out of that beutiful paintwork with grit covered magnet tabs!
Cargo net & bag on the pillion is best for balence. But not most secure; though as I showed you, cargo nets do do a great job; but they are end of the day elastic.
Long term answer for practicality & convenience is a rack & box.
£45 for a 45l top box & plate like Snowie's, but you'll have to hunt out a compatible rack to bolt over the tail.
Plenty of excuse to scour e-bay for you though, looking for New Old Stock; Second Hand or a 'universal' fit!

I have seen the shark in a local shop for £200 but didn't go for it because I am trying to spread the cash out more this year.
Wasted too much last year on nothing in so little time, I've also seen some hats online however felt a bit worried about delivery on the helmet.
I think i'm going leave it till the NEC and keep the helmet I've got at the moment (or might get a cheap £50 one from the shop);
I will be going by train that way I can carry a new jacket with ease if they have any nice ones. Might come down by bike but depends how everything is at the time.

Dont worry I haven't placed it over the tank (well did once just to see what it would look like) but it didn't look right.
I have been looking over ebay, but haven't found one yet since way back in july still look every night just encase I can drop on one though.
Did manage find this however https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380186775093?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Not sure what you think of it being from Thailand but it may help if it would fit and good quality if you do any builds in the future.
*The fuses haven't turned up yet however we haven't had any post for the last 2 days (Friday and Saturday) so should be here soon thank you for sending it. ____________________ CB125>CG125>GN125>ER5>K100RS>R1100RS>K100RS

Yup' wont fit... or at least its not the same as CB125TD-C stand. I checked part numbers; they aren't the same!
You might as well hang onto the hat you got for the month till NEC, and see if you can pick up a decent hat there.
If I remember; you were impressed by open face; & with winter coming; though they are cold, they don't steam or frost up; you ought to be able to pick one up at show for £25ish... ____________________ My Webby'Tef's-tQ, loads of stuff about my bikes, my Land-Rovers, and the stuff I do with them!
