Hi guys.
I recently bought a Ducati Diavel and to be honest, it's my pride and joy! Where I live, bike thefts are extremely rare but obviously I cannot dismiss the possibility - either at home or especially when out and about.
The bike comes with a standard Ducati immobiliser but these will deter few. I am considering a decent disc lock for when I park the bike away from home. A chain and anchor point for when she is in the garage. A Ducati-approved alarm system, for obvious reasons. And finally, Road Angel Bike Trac.
Here are my options below:
Lock and Chain: Mammoth Thatcham Approved Motorbike Lock & Chain - around £50
Brake disc lock: ABUS Granit Quick Mini - Around £85
Diavel Ducati Performance Anti-theft System: - £250 (hopefully fitted)
Road Angel Bike Trac: £299.99 plus £99.99/year subscription.
So, what would be my best options out off all of the above? Do I really need an alarm system if I have the Bike-Trac fitted? Should I bother with the chain/lock and the disc lock? Should I consider having the bike datatagged/alphadotted??
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Wow. That's one helluva chain. I'd hate to lose the key!
The disc lock looks superb at it can be taken out and about and fixed directly to the disc and then used with a chain and fixed to an anchor point at home. |

I think they're reselling from here. https://www.torc-anchors.com/products.php?cat=16
If you're going 19mm, get an anti-pinch pin, means you need less chain and are locking it through something structural rather than a wheel. ____________________ '11 CBF1000A, '99 C90, '98 CB500

Yea, looks the same, but they don't do the top 'untouchable' model chain that elite does.
Oh and it should be noted the 19mm chains really aren't too practical to carry around etc. |

Not really G. Want I am hoping for is a site (and organisation) that does specific scientific tests for say Hardness Testing, Brittleness testing etc.. for a range of temperatures and then displays the actual measurements each chain achieves.
Then they display the results in a league table showing which has the best results. |

Almax chain and CISA lock every time. Just make sure you choose a good ground anchor too. |
