 |
|
Hi all,
recently purchased an MT-03.
When The bike was originally owned by quite a short guy, so he had an after market shock fitted and had this further modified to bring the bike down lower.
Looking at the shock, it appears to have been drilled to allow the bike to sit lower to the ground. The swing arm also appears to have been filed/ground slightly to allow for clearance of the shock in its new position.
I'm not too concerned about the swing arm as it's only a minor mod.
However, if I were to move the pivot point back to the original location on the shock, would this be a risk of snapping due to the hole drilled?
I've not yet taken the shock off to see if both holes are as manufactured, or done by the previous owner/mechanic.
Any thoughts?
Pics attached.

I was going to ask that. They can't both be bolted through the arm surely? ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

+1 for the swingarm looking dodgey as well.
I'd have run a mile after seeing that mod! ____________________ My Flickr |

Hi,
yes the shock & swing arm are only connected through the right hand bolt.
The left is just a grommet...
The swingarm has not been drilled in any way. ____________________ Like a Yorkie - I'm not for the girls |
