putting 6v cg125 engine into 12v bike

Hi. I want to put a 6v engine in my 1988 12v cg 125.
Do I have to change the stator and the ignition coil on the 6v engine for a 12v ones?
Is there anything else i gotta do?

As far as I know you could retain the 6 volt alternator with the downside that the battery wouldn't charge beneath say 3k rpm, but the 6 volt coil would have to go.
Ideally you'd fit a 12 volt alternator.

if you can fit the 12 v stator plate and rota on it should work ok.the casing should be the same,if not the later casing should fit.
you might consider swopping the cam as well,it may improve performance.

just one thing though ,a 1988 cdi model?or a honda brazil points model?if its a 1988 points model then it should do,

if you have a cdi model you have got to swop the 12 volt /cdi power coils and flywheel and so before you start ,just check the flywheel taper is the same.using the old flywheel will not work as you need the pulse coil magnet in the newer flywheel
