Hi Guys And Girls, Ive Just Joined The Forum, Ive Read A Few Posts And It Seems Some Of You Really Know Your Stuff, So Hope I Can Learn A Thing Or Two.
At The Moment I Dont Have A Bike, I Have A £2500 Budget And Thinking Of Getting A CBR 125. I Know Its Not The Fastest 125 Around But Its Reliable And I Think I Think It Will Make A Great First Bike. What Are Your Opinions? ____________________ Smoking Seriously Harms You And Others Around You! Thats Why I Do It! |

Welcome aboard.
Re:CBR125 - Save your money.
Buy an older, second hand 125 that won't cost as much to insure or repair when you drop it. Put what you save towards your test and your next bike. ____________________ BCF: Be yourself, just don't be an arse. |

Well here is a lesson you probably missed
People read not by recognising metters in the word but by the general shape of the word. reading something written in capital letters takes about 3 times as long to read. Hence it is normal to write in regular sized letters unless it is the first letter of a proper noun, or the first letter of the first word in a sentance.
Basically leave the shift key alone
The CBR is a tidy bike and you can expect many years of loyal service from it! make sure however that you check out alot of insurances quotes and budget for the gear and protective clothing when you are considering a bike. |

Get an XR125 , cheaper to insure on TPO - 400 quid for me as a 17 year old student living in London compared to 800-1200 for the CBR. If you drop it, there's no fairing to replace and i can guaran-damn-tee you that it'll be beating any other 125 up in winter (bar the CG, from which the XR's engine was sourced from). I wanted to get the CBR from chiswick honda, but i'm glad i didn't as I enjoy the high riding style and the commanding view. It's got a nice sounding engine if you redline it in 2nd gear. As i have discovered, you can carry 3 shopping bags or 2 packed to the brim on the back with a 1.5 meter abus chain. They're basically similar bikes with similar performance although i would find the XR more practical as a wallet conscious individual - you can get 160 miles on a full tank, but i spend for quid on every 100 miles!
The NSR is also a sweet bike, having been given to opportunity to ride my friends, however it, as well as most sports 2 stroke is an absolute bitch to ride on town for hours as there is far too much weight placed on your wrists and shoulders = i've been riding my scoot for too long so i'm not yet accustomed to the ergonomics of a sports bike. The CBR125 on the other hand has got straght-ish handle bars but is way to miniature for the average, i.e. 5'9 - 5'10 rider let alone a 6ft teenager. But those are just my so i hope you don't end up getting the wrong bike and doing this ____________________ The Tot 2019 Z1000SX - 2007 R1

Get a cheaper 125 and then you will have more money to spend on a better bigger bike once you have done your test etc. ____________________ Suzuki RF 600 - The two wheeled Testarossa (Deceased)

yeah race reps .. fsss wouldnt touch them (no offence to you rs and mito owners) but personaly i hate them , nsr maybe or the cbr, but personaly i think race rep 125's dont live up 2 there looks, were as a normal cg or marauder doesnt try to look bigger than it is.
But gotta feel for people who cant get bigger bikes and are stuck on 50 - 125's, wish we were back in the day of "hop on a bike, do test, get big bike, away you go"

hmm well i dont buy a bike for speed.... i buy it for reliability and looks, all i need this bike for is work and general trips out, dont really want a race bike to go the the shop.
personaly dont like small race bikes.
rather have something that looks good as im not going to be doing 105 mph

| Quote: | Hmm, try 105mph on an NSR, Mito, RS... or 70mph downhill with a tailwind on a marauder.
Don't live up to their looks eh? Pah. |
why not get a cheaper bike that wont blow up, seriously how long can you keep those bikes at that speed without seriously damaging the engine, its a tiny single cylinder engine, and at 105mph surely it cant last long, i'd rather get a cheap bike and put money towards a test and real bike, instead of a 125 that looks faster than it is! that said, i would quite like a sports rep 125, but id still need to have the CG just for the simple knowlege that every morning it will start. |

I find it annoying.
Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.
When you start capitalising things, it messes up the aforementioned theory.
