xtz750 super tenere what you think?

i know the person selling it, hes had a few bikes off me before.

This has had a "custom" paint job on the front headlight cowl, as to say its a bit shitty paint.

is it worth the £800 as it is?

also what are your views on this vt500 :O

Probably a whisker high for the tenere given that it needs re-registering. That said, if it's sound, I'd buy it if I were in the market.

id stay away from the vt500, ive owned one before and while it didnt give me too many hassels, it was an arse to get parts for, and that inboard disc is just a prick of an idea,

the xtz will hold its price quite well, i'd pay that money for it,
if i was back in the uk, id probably buy it sight unseen,

but try and knock a 100 or 2 off the price

I think the new one is ridiculous personally. 12 grand for a Yamaha pretend trail bike? I don't get the obsession with these big trail styled bikes that will never go off road.
What I do like the look of is the XT500, I don't think they import them over here but there were plenty in Greece, at the right price new (say 3500) that would be an attractive thumper you could actually do some proper off roading on.

Having read some of your other recent threads, I'm of a mind to suggest that you get used to riding your 400 before you start the climb towards moar powah. You've had a lot of self-confessed near misses in a very short space of time.

I'm only 5'5" with short stubby legs (probably a 30" inside leg)

The guys dropped the seat for me as low as it would go, so I was on tippy toes anyway, if I had one foot flat on the ground, the other was dangling at least 6-8 inches.

Me being a fat bastard also seemed to help keep it stable, too. One time a guy who was roughly the same height as me (but probably half my weight) sat on it and he couldn't keep it balanced or get his feet on the floor.
