A good hi vis vest ?

Basically two problems:
A. Being a fat bastid, it needs to come in 4XL
B. It needs to be properly hi-vis

I tried a fleabay £2.50 delivered piece of junk, zip knackered in no time, too small as well.
Tried a different 'Security' version (£8), came with velcro closure ffs!

Anyone suggest something that is much better, doesn't come with a label that says one size fits all!
Dont want to spend much more than £25 but at a guess may well have to

They are Velcro, but I think I saw Marmalade saying they will try zipper ones too for a higher price since they're more expensive.

size is up to XXL, dunno if Marmalade can get bigger, talk with them

What's the problem with velcro? If it's not staying closed, you can stitch some hooks and eyes on it.

Yup, but they seem like decent quality and if you tour (as hi vis compulsory next year in France) / ride at night regularly, I guess it's worth it. Would hope they last longer that the £2.50 jobbies.

Alternatively get a brightly coloured textile jacket.

I am thinking about getting an icon one but maybe wait until Spring next year as will only use when visiting abroad.

Last time I stuck a dayglo waistcoat on, I got knocked off the bike

Best way to get seen is a white full fairing with orange flashes and a white helmet.

If any one nearly kills you , you can pull them over and bollock them if you should feel so inclined.

Hi Viz jackets are useless when the light hits them the whole jacket reflects at once giving the impression that it is just a light in the middle of the road. The lanyard I believe is what they're called (strap that goes across your chest is the best.

That one gives the impression of an actual body shape I haven't got the image at the moment but if Teflon sees this I'm sure you will understand if he links the image.

Its the high viz time of year for me also. (I start wearing it when the clocks go back, right through to the end of March when they go forward).

Anyway like you I simply bought a long sleeved one from ebay. I bought a couple of sizes too big (ie i'm a Large so I bought XXL), so that it would go over my leathers.

Regarding the zip, don't worry about that, I simply sewed a button in to mine, the Velcro never holds properly.

One good thing about the long sleeved high viz, is that in moderate to light rain, I don't need to put my waterproofs on for a short journey.

The stripes stop you looking like a light, I lost a rear bulb (checked before I set off) and this made me bright enough on unlit roads to get home.
