Basically two problems:
A. Being a fat bastid, it needs to come in 4XL
B. It needs to be properly hi-vis

I tried a fleabay £2.50 delivered piece of junk, zip knackered in no time, too small as well.
Tried a different 'Security' version (£8), came with velcro closure ffs!

Anyone suggest something that is much better, doesn't come with a label that says one size fits all!
Dont want to spend much more than £25 but at a guess may well have to

They are Velcro, but I think I saw Marmalade saying they will try zipper ones too for a higher price since they're more expensive.

size is up to XXL, dunno if Marmalade can get bigger, talk with them Smile

What's the problem with velcro? If it's not staying closed, you can stitch some hooks and eyes on it.

Yup, but they seem like decent quality and if you tour (as hi vis compulsory next year in France) / ride at night regularly, I guess it's worth it. Would hope they last longer that the £2.50 jobbies.

Alternatively get a brightly coloured textile jacket.

I am thinking about getting an icon one but maybe wait until Spring next year as will only use when visiting abroad.

Hi Viz jackets are useless when the light hits them the whole jacket reflects at once giving the impression that it is just a light in the middle of the road. The lanyard I believe is what they're called (strap that goes across your chest is the best.

That one gives the impression of an actual body shape I haven't got the image at the moment but if Teflon sees this I'm sure you will understand if he links the image.

Its the high viz time of year for me also. (I start wearing it when the clocks go back, right through to the end of March when they go forward).

Anyway like you I simply bought a long sleeved one from ebay. I bought a couple of sizes too big (ie i'm a Large so I bought XXL), so that it would go over my leathers.

Regarding the zip, don't worry about that, I simply sewed a button in to mine, the Velcro never holds properly.

One good thing about the long sleeved high viz, is that in moderate to light rain, I don't need to put my waterproofs on for a short journey.

The gay vests are great for stopping rain, and wind chill.

In a curious way this sounds a bit like the argument for National Service really, perhaps we should all have to take a CBT every year until the ego slackens off, and the common sense is f'kd into you

Now all we need, is someone to invent jackets for bikers that tackle the chill factor and have reflective bits on them, throw in a bit of kevlar and some armour and someone could make a packet !!! Twisted Evil

What if you're off your bike and lying in a crumpled heap in the road? Wink

I use the cheap ones, don't care about doing them up and chuck 'em when they get ruined. There have been a lot of foggy mornings around here recently and I'm dressed in grey and black - it doesn't hurt to stand out a bit more.

This. Thumbs Up

We've had pea-soup fog down here for weeks and car headlights really do pick up the hi-viz in fog - especially if the bike's taillight stopped working in the instance I saw.

I thought I'd replied to this already, but:

https://www.vizwear.com/cat/High-Visibility/0.1/subcat/Jackets/Fleece/2/product/PARKA-2-TONE/46

The stripes stop you looking like a light, I lost a rear bulb (checked before I set off) and this made me bright enough on unlit roads to get home.
