All i know is that if you put heavier rollers in it will have slower acceleration but a higher top speed and if you put lighter rollers in you get better acceleration but less top speed, wether or not this is what you mean I don't know, or wether it is worth doing.

Hope this helps, Paul

Rollers don't really make that much difference. Is your bike fully derestricted.

Have a look on: https://www.taffspeed.co.uk/technic/hiper2.htm .

Rollers do make a hell of a difference. What scooter is it you have and what has been done to it?

well its a 2001 piaggio zip 50,

I think its been derestricted in the front cog, as i took it apart and there is no "O-ring" the nylon spacer, so as far as i can tell, nothing else has been done Razz

Right... Scooters are usually derestricted by removing the blank tube coming from the exhaust near the manifold.
Rollers on a standard scooter wont make a great affect, but if you put bigger rollers in (same weight but bigger in size) the scooter wont get down into first gear as the rollers are too big. What do you want out of the scooter, is it top end you want, or is it acceleration you are after. Check the exhaust for restrictor, if it is restricted then id advise you get the blank hose removed and welded up.
Let me know what sort of performance you want from the scooter and i will tell you the best set up for it...

Ben...

The restriction which has the most affect on a zip is the o ring.

You cannot put bigger/smaller rollers in as they do not FIT in properly, but you can put heavier/lighter in.

I would reccomend keeping standard though, as if you put too light you will get no top end and if u go too heavy it will take too long in pull away, which you need.

To derestrict the exhaust cut off the tube which is a dead end, and hammer/weld closed.

Cut off the catalyst converter and weld over.

you are now fully derestricted, variator kit next if you have the money, then the 70cc big bore Twisted Evil
