Hi Guys. Wonder if anyone can help me. Recently I have been riding my YBR125 to and from work and it has developed vibrations, started quite gently and has got progressively worse. I took it to a garage and the guy checked it over and said everything seemed fine. It always seems to be when i get over 30mph.

I have no idea what it could be as im not bike savvy but I googled and it was suggested I should check all nuts, bolts etc and then went into checking brakes etc which I dont have a clue how to do. Obviously I don't know if its safe to ride, and the earliest the garage can have a proper look is next week.

Any advice gratefully received. Thanks guys Very Happy

Check your head bearings perhaps. Making sure the nuts and bolts are tightened up properly is the first thing I'd do though.

Does the bike feel unstable when it's vibrating a lot? Have you checked your tyre pressure?

Without more detail its hard to say tbh.

But based on what u have said so far if it were me looking at it i would check the wheels are balanced?

Vibrations getting worse based on speed rather than rpm (im assuming in all gears at 30mph? well 4th and 5th anyways because any lower than that u wont hit 30) smacks alittle of a wheel being out of ballance.. probably your front look around the rim and check for signs that you have thrown a wheel weight, i.e a clean spot on a dirty rim etc.

Sure you're not just revving too high?

Never thought about wheel weights. I thought they put the weights on the inside on tubeless rims?

I had the same problem. Turns out it was just me shivering in the freezing cold morning air. Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the advice guys. I have checked the revs and they are fine. It does vibrate like mad at about 30mph. Il get the wheels checked for balancing as the mechanic said there are no loose nuts/bolts etc. Il report back. Very Happy

The wheel and tyre needs balancing together, so the weights would have to go on the outside.
