Did a local club rideout from Newport to Cheltenham racecourse a few years ago. Good day out, with all the usual stands and promo stuff
Also went to the Carmarthen Bike Show last summer which was pretty good
And we've been to a few local demo days and promo's etc in the last couple of years (M&P's and JT's Swansea)
all seem to have a good atmosphere ____________________ 1st bike (Sept'06 - May'10) : 1991 GPZ500S / Current bike (since Nov 2009) : 2003 Suzuki Bandit 600N

I usually start the year over in Berkshire at the 3B's rally at the beginning of April. Then end of April/early May is Over the Edge Rally on the I.O.W (although I didn't go this year), then mid-May it's either Creatures Small Change rally, near Peterborough OR NABD in Cheshire (tough call because I like them both).
May Bank Holiday is also the Hastings Run. June really depends, sometimes I go to Swansea to the West Coast rally OR I go to the 3B's rally near Bordon. July I have just started going to Wycombe MAG rally. August, I usually head to Bedfordshire. September is the Soggy Moggy near Cambridge or Rejects in Kent. October is the Mabon in Bedfordshire, and the Hex Rated in Oxfordshire. Plus the Brightona in Brighton of course.
In between times I go to MAG in Eastleigh, and Reading. I will ride out to various cafes, and attend biker meets at a few pubs I know in the local area.
I usually only camp April to October because I am a wimp. But as others will tell you, there are lots of rallies happening earlier in the year...like the Frozen Brick, February Freezer...etc. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Why not think outside the box, and do other bike meetings.
The Red Marley hill climb is 1 event I want to attend at some point, or how about heading down to the algarve and going to the Faro rally the 3rd weekend in July.
2012 will see me heading on a 3000 mile trip through France over to Corsica for a couple of days, then over to Italy taking in Pisa before heading up to Riva Del Garda, Nauders, Grindelwald, interlarken, before heading back via Besacon, Combles & Ypres.
The plan is to do at least 43 alpine passes listed in the John Hermann book in 21 days ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |

I go to the 'Family Biker Bash' in Gillingham, North Dorset every year, is a good laugh. It's usually the first weekend in July.
Toying with the idea of the over the edge rally in 2012, depends on what shifts I am working and if I have holiday to spare.
-edit corrected year lol

The Red Marley is a famous weekend hill climb event in Gloucestershire, take a look on YouTube for what I mean.
So you want to walk before you run?
If you take a well planned dramatic 1st step, it will be a highly memorable one, something you can tell your mates about, knowing there's not a chance they'll be able to match it
As for venturing further afield, there are those I've met who literally passed their test 1 week before heading south to faro, and there are those who will ride any type of bikes anywhere, the extreme trifle posse https://www.extremetrifle.com/1/index.php are the sort of madcap people who recreated their version of "easyrider" calling it "CheesyRider" riding chopped Honda C90's to portugal.
Also there are those with more charitable causes for riding C90's such as Scooters in the Sahara www.scootersinthesahara.co.uk/
They ride each spring through Spain, Marrocco down the west coast of africa to a hospital in the Gambia area. ____________________ I accept no responsibility for swearing, drinking, motorcycle riding or your pregnant teenage daughter. |
