Hello everyone.Iam from switzerland.Yesterday I bought a 1998 Honda Nsr 125R.its JC22E.Motor is very good condition. But the only problem is,itsnot starting. It was sitting for a year, nobody ride or run it for along time. But now I try to run it but I cant.
First, battery was empty.I change battery and now has good energy. When I turned to key,I can see Neutral and Side stand lamp. And I try to run it,its engaging, everything normal but not running.Tank is full for a year. And I controlled the ignition, its normal.when I plug out spark plug cable,I can see spark.I cleaned filter.Tomorrow morning I will plug out spark plug and clean or change it.But although I wanted to ask you,why dont this motorbike running? And when I take off seat,I saw 2 cable (orange-white) which is not connected.these are located under the passenger seat.what are these cables? Thanks for your help |

Well, considering its been sitting for a while its probably worth draining the tank and cleaning it out with some paraffin. Just put some paraffin in, slosh it around and then fill the tank up again with fresh petrol. If I were you id change the two stroke whilst I was as it but it probably wouldn't make a difference as oil lasts ages.
You'll also probably need to clean out the carb as its probably gummed up. Go to your local auto parts store and get some carb cleaner (I use STP), take the carb out and start CAREFULLY stripping it down. You'll want to soak the jets (main and idle) and the jet carrier in STP and then blast through them with compressed air (If you dont have an air compressor then air in a can will work ok). Clean out the float bowl and generally give the carb a clean.

Thanks everybody for your reply.I already disconnected as you said Alains.I bought 138,42,65 Nsr Jet kit from Marc Cooper who works dellorto, and also I bought BR9EIX spark.so,I disconnected the restriction plate inside of intake,I cleaned carb and tank as you said. Now my motorbike runs, but not properly.I wait 5 minutes for warm engine, its smoke,I ride 15 20 minutes but still has smoke.and when I try to accelereta, its difficult to accelerate, motor has alot of vibration during acceleration.Idle position no vibration, but during neutral, when I try to acelerate with right hand,it has alot of vibration. And I couldnt see 8000 9000 rpm because of vibration.I dont know what is the problem. You are the god of Nsr Alains,I really need your special answers.I hope I can find a solution.Maybe You can say me its bec of mixture settings, but I cant find mixture screw.Actually,I know which one is pilot screw, but I cant find a screwdriver for tune. You can see what I say in pictures.Ithas special screw.Do you think that its normal? or which screw should I buy for mixture set in future? Thanks |
