As above really, only got some good summer gloves which aren't the best at this time of year.

Got about £30 and can get things picked up from https://www.ghostbikes.com/categorylist/On-Road-Gear-Motorcycle-Gloves-Winter-Gloves/?page=2&SearchSortBy=PLH

The Spada Enforcers looked good until I found they only had small left in stock!

Also, the claw type seem good but look a bit weird Shocked

Can anyone recommend any?

Cheers

I have spada enforcers and they're not awesome. After about 15minutes at 70mph my hands are frozen through. Having said that, I ride a completely naked bike with no muffs/heated grips etc. Thankfully my commute is only 20minutes so I can soon warm my hands up, but any further and I would be looking at other means than the enforcers to keep my digits frost free.

I also get intense cooling of my testicles when I'm riding in the cooler months, although I doubt this has much to do with the spadas.

I've got summer gloves and have bar muffs.

Tucano Urbano muffs are pretty decent, I have a set of Oxford bone-drys at the moment combined with heated grips, hands are cooking!

I'm not convinced any glove keep you warm without the help of muffs or heated grips.

I have the spadas too, whilst I am not a huge fan of them, for under £40 they are good value. Issue I have is that they get sweaty, which then makes my hands cold. I use them and some bar muffs atm which is a good combination, hands get cool but not cold.

To be fair to the gloves, I use them year round and not once have I found them to be sweaty, despite this being a common complaint about them. I will admit that I don't have particularly sweaty hands mind. Also, they don't let water in, even during heavy rain, which is a major plus.

I suppose more than 15minutes at a minimum of 70mph with no wind protection in air temps around zero centrigrade is going to be a tall order for any pair of gloves.

Thanks chaps Smile

I only ride the bike for fun as I use the car for commuting so i'll be out at those speeds for at least one hour!

Might look at getting some muffs then Rolling Eyes

Always thought they looked a bit silly and heated grips never keep my fingers warm (more the palm), plus my summer Richa gloves are ace, they're waterproof and super comfy, I've had them about a year and they still don't smell one bit bad.

Any muffs to look out for? Noticed some attach to the bars and some are like oven mitts! Mr. Green Don't really want to have to attach anything to the bike if poss as it's stored outside, rather just have something I can whip out

I have the Spada's too which I used for CBT and a few lessons. I'm with the sweaty side of opinion.

On a side note, I bought mine from ghostbikes and seen you state £30, to which I thought "hmmm i'm sure mine were more" (£35) so checked e-mail and ghostbikes have sent me an e-mail today which has discount codes on:

I have a pair of Held Freezer gloves but they are a bit out of your price range. I know they are £40 but have a look at these>

I'd buy cheap heated grips and muffs and use your summer gloves.

I agree with this.

The Spada Enforcers are rated to keep hands warm for around 35mins at 50mph in 0c degrees.

They probably do that, but travel any faster or for longer and your hands will freeze fast. Also while good a being waterproof, the enforcers are bulky and the lining is very poor. Even with my lastest brand new pair (sent after a return) the lining tries it's best to jump out. The visor wipe on the thumb is great though.

The Held Freezers would have been a much better buy.

Yep I agree....

When you can pick up heated grips for just under £25 and they will work with summer gloves best, theres really no point to most winter gloves...

A heated grip/ muff compination is just heaven in the cold...

Most winter style gloves will not prevent your fingers freezing to the point of numbness... From past experience I'm glad I've got my heated grips!!!!

I have heard that the nanoo nanoo (mork and mindy) gloves are brilliant!!!

Globalbikeonline.com has grips for just £24.99, all the way up to £80 oxford grips. Easy to wiring in, just don't forget to turn them off!!! Which I've done one too many times!!!!! Razz

We recently bought some Richa Neon gloves for £20 a pair
I'd say the impact protection is minimal, but they've proved to be waterproof in some horrendous weather recently.
I find them to be a very comfortable glove for commuting Thumbs Up

Thanks everyone, I have heated grips already but have disconnected them as the first time I used them my main fuse blew which left me stranded, and my last bike it killed the battery (even though they were always turned off when the bike wasn't running) so I have a pretty bad experience with them.

All the muffs look like they need fixing to the bike so this puts me off also Rolling Eyes

What are those thermal inner gloves like what you can get?

You been doing it wrong then mate Wink . Wire it in via a relay activated by an ignition controlled live (headlight supply, brake light switch supply etc) and they won't work unless the ignition is on Thumbs Up .

First bike was wired like this but it still drained the battery.

Current bike had them already, rode for about 6 months without using them, turned them on one day and the whole bike cut out, REC blew as well as main fuse and it just seems odd it was the first time I had used them. Scarred for life now lol

No-one mentioned the lobster gloves?

Best gloves I have ever bought, prob get them cheaper than the website shown below.

I've been using these since about August, 5 days a week, all weather. My hands are still not cold enough to make me want to put on the tucano urbano hand muffs which are still sitting in my house new.

So....I'd recommend them all the way. When it's cold enough I'll use my summer gloves and the tucano urbano muffs.

I bought a pair of the lobster claw type gloves after Ariel Badger recommended them. Found em in the bargain bucket in my local bike shop, £8.75... Laughing

They are easily the warmest gloves I have used, and keep my fingers cosy at motorway speeds for a good 40mins...

Tucanos are fitted with one cable tie per mitt (supplied + two spares).
I fitted mine in under ten minutes. Could not be easier and they really DO keep the cold out.

Tech-7 Otto II

https://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=239313&kw=tech-7+otto+ii

£20 delivered

I tried some enforcers and hated them, way to big.
the tech-7 have a polythene layer between the lining and outer that keeps all the heat in and wind/rain out.
My hands are on the verge of being to hot with these on, plus they also have the visor wipe on them.
The protection isnt brilliant but winter gloves never seem to have the protection of summer/race gloves.
For £20 you cant beat them, they're also ride mag best buys.
