Does anyone know the type of bulbs I need for instrument panel on ZZR600, as I have two that have blown, and I cannot read the speedo or rev counter at night.
Saw a pic of a ZZR600 with blue bulbs in panel, so all the dials were a luminous blue like the Volkswagen Golfs. (looked pretty nice) but I just wanna replace them really.
Is it a pain to get at them ? Is it a fairing off job ?

Can't speak for the ZZR but in my experience it's always going to be top fairing off at least. Did my GPZ last week (speedo bulb went) and I managed to do it with the fairing pulled forward and resting on the wheel (unbolted, but left the light wiring connected) rather than totally removing it... Was still a fiddle but only a ten minute job. ____________________ 'Allo! My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!

I tried to remove the fairing to get to the bottom fork clamps but after taking out 13 bolts/screws the dam thing still wouldnt come off.
Dont know what order you need to start in to remove the whole fairing, but it seriously wound me up try to get it off.

Hi
This is from memory. And it is a pain so might have forgotten something.
Remove the trim piece around the top of the belly pan (bolt on either side then slide forward). Remove the belly pan. Remove the fairing inner trim (one bolt is hidden in the lockable compartment). Remove the side fairings. Remove the screen. Think you can then get at the bolts to remove the mirrors and top fairing, and clocks.
Doesn't actually help much when tying to get at the bolts on the bottom yoke. There is VERY little clearance between them and the plastic ram air intake tubes, and frankly I couldn't be bothered to remove the tubes. Either use an allen key which us cut down, or use a small allen key bit and a spanner (ratchet spanner makes it easier), done from below having removed the small access panel under the headlight.
All the best

Cheers Keith. I undid the two bolts on the fairing inner panel on the right, and it still wouldnt come off, so I assume I have missed a bolt on it. ____________________ Previous Bikes: TZR125, KMX125, RGV250, RD350YPVS, GXSR750H, GSXR600SRAD, R1 (2000), GSXR1000 (K1), ZZR600, CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
