As mentioned you've probably pulled some crap from the bottom of the tank into the carb...
I had a similar issue with the Bandit only firing on three cylinders after an emergency fill up about this time last year

Had a mate to help get the carbs etc cleaned out, and it's been fine ever since Thumbs Up

I reckon you've got air in the fuel lines if you ran it dry, i'll be surprised if its got shite in the tank.

Vacuum tap on the CBR, when we emptied the tank and lines on mine it took about 30-45 seconds of on off cranking the bike over to get fuel back through.

Just put the choke on and dont touch the throttle, crank it for about 10 seconds, stop to let it cool down then do it again.

Paddy is correct. Vacuum taps can take a good while to prime the system again after running dry, certainly long enough to flatten a battery that isn't in great condition.

Also I'm not sure on your fuel tank size, but if you ran it dry then put in a fiver's worth you may still need to be on reserve, so don't turn it to on until it's full.

Crap in the bottom of the tank would get sucked in as soon as you flick to reserve. The crap sits right at the bottom, and is heavier than fuel. If there was enough crap or water to stop it starting then the bike would have run very poorly or cut out within a few minutes of switching over to reserve.

Why 8000?! Your poor engine Laughing Sitting at 1500 would have been sufficient Rolling Eyes

Robby, for info, tank is like 13 litres.

CBR's dont, the choke NEEDS to be on for a few minutes, atleast until the temp gauge moves, no idea why... they all do that.

Just up the idle speed, should be 1350-1400 when warm.
