Posted: 20:56 - 04 Jan 2012 Post subject: Got my test tomorrow! Advice please |
 |
|
Hi all, passed my CBT a nearly two years ago for cheap transport.
I have always loved bikes and after buying a Kawasaki GPZ400R and rebuilding it from the ground up I have finally got round to doing my test... I did my theory earlier last year so its MOD1 tomorrow and MOD 2 on Friday.
I have not had much training at all and will be getting 4 hours training in the morning for MOD 1 and the same for MOD 2. But that is not much training, reason being funds are short at this time of year.
I am a confident and aware rider, always on my mirrors and paying full attention to the road and drivers around me. I have covered over 30K miles on three bikes over the past 2 years and cycled for years before that (another 25K miles +) anyway any tips pointers which could make the difference tomorrow?
Thanks in advance ____________________ Riding in the sun in Australia on a 04 Worked ZX10R along with a fleet of other crazy toys |

I wouldn't even waste money on training, the pass rate is over 2/3 and that includes a lot of One Week Wonders. You'll be fine. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

My motto: I passed my test. So can everyone else (passed 1 and 2 with no previous experience and 4 2-hour lessons). My mate passed his - and he's a complete idiot.
Only use 2nd gear for the swerve and emergency stop - the engine will help you with the breaking.
This video was my bible for Mod 1:

Hi all, thanks for the luck today was going really well but the test centre have cancelled all tests due to the high winds, apparently an instructor was nearly blown off his bike.. Been told they are going to try and re-schedule for tomorrow morning (6.15am!!) Got some practice in today which was good and also been told that I should have no trouble passing both tests If they do re-schedule I may end up doing MOD 1 in the morning followed by MOD 2 in the afternoon! At least it gets it over and done with at long last, so 2 hours training later and they tell me I can pass, result in my opinion! Will let you all know how it goes. ____________________ Riding in the sun in Australia on a 04 Worked ZX10R along with a fleet of other crazy toys |

Ah well, there's a lot of it about. I'd prefer to do them on the same day, I'd have gone for it if I'd thought about it. There really is nothing hard in the Mod 1, it's just the Mod 2 that can catch you out with traffic or weird roads. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Fair enough though, I set out at lunch time for a local pub, (bit of lunch ) and decided against it after about 3 miles... wasn't looking forward to the journey home! ____________________ Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruitsalad!

Remember the test starts from where your bike is parked. So remember mirror mirror shoulder check before you pull away. And if you have to stop when he opens the gates do the same again.Don't be afraid to ask the examiner to repeat or explain to you if you don't understand him............
And the very best of luck
EDIT: I'm a bit behind here lol
So good luck for both tests tomorow then

Tests have been moved to Wednesday and Thursday next week. As some of you may have heard my run around bike was stolen on Friday night so I am very glad I have the test soon so I can hopefully get the Kawasaki on the road ____________________ Riding in the sun in Australia on a 04 Worked ZX10R along with a fleet of other crazy toys |
