Hi folks.
Very quick question. I've got to put the charger on the Fazer and I'm just wondering, is it better to disconnect it from the bike or can I just connect the optimate leads straight onto the terminals while it's still wired up to the bike?
It's been fine all winter until I moved it the other day and it's got a sluggish turnover, bugger. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP

Hi
With an Optimate I would also just connect it up. Be a touch more careful with a normal fast battery charger.
Also, while I remember the Optimate leads use the same connector as some Tamiya radio control model batteries (polarity is reversed though I think), which might be convenient it you want to wire up an extra lead for the Optimate.
All the best

Another for the Optimate fly lead. I have one permanently attached to my battery and hidden behind a fairing panel. When I get home I just plug in, switch on and walk away - it can sometimes stay like this for several weeks.
This fly lead can also be used to attach a cigarette lighter accessory which is useful for charging phones and sat navs etc on the move. ____________________

You can buy the optimate plugs on ebay. I've got the tails on my 3 bikes and put one on charge each night ____________________ Nobby the Bastard: How yo tell the difference between the actual japanese and her just screaming because she's had live fish stuck up her arse? Thanks everyone. It may be gone by the end of this evening. Got a guy coming to view it later. ____________________ Colin McRae MBE 1968 - 2007 RIP
