Riding past an old accident scene

Ok been sorting out exams and what not for university finally sorted to get my theory out the way. However one dilemma I have come across basically the best place that I can get to when I do my Mod1 which is going past a location where an extremely close family member died due to a negligent company causing the RTA.

Now don't believe in religion or anything like that however when ever I go near it my mind doesn't think straight for some reason. Most probably because I'm still human not emotional. Even forgetting where I am sometimes.

IF I want to ride down south or London this is one of the best routes to take however so just reaching out a bit and asking has anyone got any tips when riding past a location like this.

(Although this is BCF will understand some stupid replies however please be a bit considerate)

The longer you avoid going past there, the harder it will get for you, sadly.

Whilst you say you're not emotional about it, your mind will still wander as you know what happened there.

I would suggest continuing to use the route regularly, and try and think of it as a road rather than a scene.

Apply logic to the situation. It is a piece of road like any other.

In fact, why not stop and go have a wander about to confirm this?

I know where you're coming from with this. I recently went back along a piece of road that two years ago a good friend died on. It was a hard ride. I went and stood on the spot where I did CPR on him while we were waiting for the air ambulance while his bike was on fire behind us.

It's just a piece of road. There is no trace at all of what happened other than a slightly newer road surface on that corner.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that my friend isn't there. It's just a road.

Either you are flouncing everytime you pass the point or you are suffering some form of PTSD related issue.

Its up to you to be honest with yourself and either grow up or get help. You can ask your GP for a psychiatric referral.

Just ride it. Ride it carefully, seeing as you're going to be thinking about the person, but don't avoid it altogether.

I find a similar thing, seeing as the road where Zimma had his fatal crash is 200 yards from my parents house, and a fun one to ride. He always pops into my mind when I ride it.
